I'm sorry guys.    I guess I can revoke the keys, but at this point it seems like that would be mean.

If it makes you feel any better, the servers are still only open for a few hours twice a week so you're not missing a lot yet.

Have folks been sending out invites? I know Miltonite and Arcanis from OO have been playing and I'm told invites can be picked up at PAX this weekend, so unless someone has invites to give out, I'll try to get one there.

I have yet to get any invites.  I did get a chance to play a bit of this yesterday and really enjoyed the game.  I found the tutorial to be severely lacking, and often found myself confused...but the action was very good.

Teggy and I waited in the hour line to play this at PAX, which got us both into the beta.  I definitely liked what I saw in my 15-20 minutes at bat, even though I didn't really get what all my abilities were or how customization worked.  I switched to the sniper class before I think the tutorial progression wanted me to, so I think it was telling me to use abilities I didn't even have.

What's the sniper button #1 special ability do?  It seemed like I was using my sniper rifle to plant timed explosives, but I wasn't sure if I was using it right.

Games definitely got promise... but that said, they only have one area and like 4 missions to play right now... I'll be eagerly awaiting more content to see how it scales.

Pug you are correct with the sniper ability.  It replaces your shots with a delayed AOE explosive (about the same damage).

I played a lot of this and had a blast, but there is a really ridiculously low amount of content in the game atm.

I was also disappointed in the performance of recon in pvp.  (an assault's normal shot hits for harder than the sniper's shots AND it is splash damage AND fires faster...)

Well the disproportionate amount of snipers I saw last night didn't seem to have any problems racking up kills.  Two particular TDM rounds both had three recons on the opposing team.  You couldn't peak your head out from anywhere without catching a round in the face. 

I haven't played the class but rate of fire/accuracy seems to be pretty high on the opposing end for a sniper rifle.  Assault shells are slow moving and pretty useless at any range over short/medium.  Grass is greener effect I suppose.

Oh it's definitely possible to get kills with sniping, it's just far harder overall.  Basically unless your enemy just stands still or you are insanely good at pulling off a headshot on a jumping target then the assault has a huge advantage.  More dps, more per hit, can shoot while jumping effectively, etc. 

After playing Recon for a week, Assault is like putting on training wheels.

(and you'll always find tons of snipers in any game because people feel they are 'cool' and will play them regardless.  However if you stacked a team with any of the frames, I guarantee the all assault team would slaughter any of the others)

Do you really think a sniper should be able to hang with an "Assault" frame close range? It sounds like you want to be able to one shot people from the other side of the map and still mop the floor with their face when they get close

Assault reminds me of using discs in Tribes so I enjoy it the most of the classes.
