Yeah it does look a hell of a lot better. Initially it just looked like any generic fantasy MMO which I wasn't too excited about. I like this FPS mode they have there and like the idea that exploration is a big part of it. But it also seems like this might be better as a co-op game rather than a traditonal MMO with a bunch of people running around the world.

My interest in it has gone up though.

As a Elder Scrolls fan and a MMO addict, I think I'm obliged to try this.  Also I loved RvR in DAOC.  Although I haven't really been following the development of this, I'm still wary.  It will be a surprise hit for me if it turns out to be actually good.

Ever since EQ1 I've been wanting a good first person implementation in a MMO.

Is there any chance the combat is better in this one?  I love Skyrim but I am recently playing Kingdoms of Amalur and the combat system just blows away ES games.  I know Bethesda has been trying to improve on it with each iteration based on player feedback but they still haven't got it right.

This is a MMO though so I'm sure there will be some other challenges but I hope they have looked at games like Tera.

I just read Rons preview and enjoyed what I read,i think I liked that it seems to be what we already know from the last 3 games(not played TES 1 and 2),i don't like when some devs think they have to change the whole style of the game a lot of the times(definitely every final fantasy game)

The 'New Game+' thing sounds a bit suspect though, while I like the idea you can start a new faction after level 50,i am not sure about this unlocking new areas,i think I would rather have the whole world accessible to all...I am not sure yet, maybe I haven't grasped the exact idea

Are there many MMOs that are First Person?,I have only played FF11,14,SWG and PSO MMOs ..so this would be my first FPS MMO..although I love the TES games so I can't imagine me disliking that

One more thing,Xbox1 Ps4 and PC....are they all playing together?,because I remember MS being a bit picky(Read:Dicks) about letting FF14 on their system because they didn't want cross servers

if it turns out XB1 players have their own server and PS4/PC players play together, then I may very well get this for PS4(something would really have to sway me to get the XB1 version if this happened)

EDIT:
Okay,NVM..I just found out that each platform(except PC/Mac) will play on their own  icon_frown

either way, looking forward to the game(and I know Myto is as well, which is also a big plus for me as I don't think I can convince her to play FF14,and I have not played with my gaming partner for a long time..stupid Forsaken Worlds!!)

EDIT:

Not too bad if that news has just come out while I was posting the above,i just read Ron's Preview and he said Early 2014 .....so it went into my head as Jan-March,hopefully it wont be too much into Spring

I just watched that CVG video again(this time with sound),and I was thinking about travel when they said all of Tamrial was featured, and I wondered how that would happen,Fast Travel for an MMO would be a bit ..easy...,so I was wondering if those big Fleas would be back for at least the region of Morrowind with it being set 1000 years before Skyrim,so that Volcano would not of gone off yet and killed all the fleas(as said in Skyrim DLC)

Maybe Wagons like in Skyrim, costing money, and maybe a wider network through the Mages guilds warping..so cool thinking about all the possibilities

so the size, are we expecting Skyrim,Cyrodiil and Morrowind will still be the same size as their separate games?

That video also mentioned that thieves and Dark Brotherhood guilds would not be available at launch and would be coming as DLC at a later date(although he said it was unknown whether it wo0uld be paid DLC or a free update)

I saw(and read in Rons preview) that the tumblers were back for locks, which I was not a fan of,then again I wondered whether the tumblers would be for Cyrodiil and the Skyrim locks still in Skyrim(why not have more than one system?)

I figured that would be the case.  It'll be nice to see them giving each region proper focus, especially the regions that the main games haven't touched since Arena.

How much game content is there if you don't set foot in Cyrodil?  If it's a healthy amount, I'm not sure I see the big deal.

Cyrodiil is the biggest land mass of Tamriel(or perhaps on par with Morrowind),right in the middle(it was where Oblivion was set)

although i am guessing the map will be different this is basically Tamriel

I imagine they'll balance out the area available, and make the quests in that portion more PvP oriented while making it possible to skip it with PvE quests.  Kinda like they did with Warhammer, where there were definite PvP zones but you could mostly avoid them if you didn't want PvP.

yeah they did that with FF11 as well,it was your choice

but...

not with TESO(from that link i posted)

In most MMO games PvP is just a separate part that does not affect the game itself. But PvP in Elder Scrolls Online is implemented into general game story.

From my preview:

Once you complete the areas tied to your particular faction and you hit level 50, you’ll be asked to choose a second faction.  If this sounds like the MMO version of “New Game+” you’ve got the right idea.  You’ll be able to access new areas with ramped-up difficulty level and rewards to let you see previously locked zones without having to build a new character.   Pull it off again and you’ll get a swipe at the third faction.  It’s a pretty elegant method of creating end-game content while letting players continue enjoying their favorite toons.

Liking that.   I don't want to have to start completely over on a character I've worked hard on building.

that almost feels, dare I say it, innovative for a MMO.

Just incase you didn't know
Kotaku

Quote
Putting an end to speculation that the massively multiplayer entry in Bethesda's award-winning role-playing franchise would be free-to-play, Zenimax Online's Matt Firor has confirmed The Elder Scrolls Online will follow a subscription-based business model.

The general manager of Zenimax online confirmed monthly subscriptions for the eagerly-anticipated game during a pre-Gamescom interview with German site Gamestar. Players will purchase the game, which comes with 30 days free, after which they'll pay a monthly fee of $14.99/€12.99/£8.99.

Why a subscription? Here's what Firor told Gamestar:

Quote
The Elder Scrolls games are all about allowing the player to go where they want, be who they want, and do what they want. We feel that putting pay gates between the player and content at any point in game ruins that feeling of freedom, and just having one small monthly fee for 100% access to the game fits the IP and the game much better than a system where you have to pay for features and access as you play. The Elder Scrolls Online was designed and developed to be a premium experience: hundreds of hours of gameplay, tons of depth and features, professional customer support - and a commitment to have ongoing content at regular intervals after launch. This type of experience is best paired with a one-time fee per month, as opposed to many smaller payments that would probably add up to more than $14.99/month any way.

He could have just said "It's The Elder Scrolls" and been done with it. Kudos for going the extra mile, Mr. Firor.
