don't tell me, it's a reality based sim game where you lock up political opponents for speaking about your government?

/political sarcasm

they missed garnering a large cult hit with this limited release.

Dungeon Keeper and its sequel are two of my favorite games of all time. A MMO doesn't appeal all that much to me, but I'd love to see another sequel someday.

My feelings exactly.

Why is this in Console Gaming?

And I agree that a Dungeon Keeper MMO is much less appealing than a standard Dungeon Keeper 3, especially when it is being developed in China (helloooo micro transactions).

I actually think an MMO version of Dungeon Keeper Gameplay could be really interesting.    My big problem with MMOS is you put so much time into your character but no one really every pays attention to them.  If your character was a primarily your dungeon that you could decorate anyway you wanted and then have it invaded by other dungeon keepers it could make the whole thing more meaningful.

Basic idea would be build your Dungeon as in Dungeon Keeper or Evil Genius and then have a 2nd mode similar to Overlord where you went out and tried to steal from/capture/destroy other peoples dungeons.  Your heroes equipment would be based on what you could make in your dungeon and the minions you take with you would be based on those that lived there.

I can dream right?

Why is this in Console Gaming?

Because I don't go into the MMM thread.   Also, when I saw the announcement, I assumed it would be for consoles (Left 4 Dead is still in that one, for example).

I agree with Lordnine.  An MMO of Dungeon Keeper is one of the few MMO ideas I've been interested in.

But if any interest in reviving Dungeon Keeper happens, I'm interested.

Chinese developers are also doing a persistent version of Company of Heroes, but at least in that case Relic is co-developing it:

Auctioning off the Dungeon Keeper IP to some yahoos, sight unseen and no involvement from the former Bullfrog, just seems bizarre.  icon_confused Maybe EA is just going to start dumping IPs left and right for pocket change. I want one too!  icon_razz
