If someone (even closed beta testers who updated seem to be having problems), anyone, can actually patch up and play, please post a screenshot or a flare or something. I'm hitting the road home in a bit.

Restarted my patch around 4pm MST and got to as far as 44% at which point it just stalled out. Waited about 10 minutes with no activity so closed the client and restarted now when I sign in to the client it says "Patching" but never actually starts the patch process. Thinking I will wait a few days and check it out then. Aion is looking like a better prospect at the moment

If you're using Fileplanet's Download Manager, it can usually resume where you left off. I've seen some posts that Fileplanet updated its open beta client at some point to something more recent, so some people are starting over and downloading that version. I don't know if it's the thing to do or not, here's one of the threads on it. http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=31053Something about looking for a file marked 8/15 instead of one marked 7/27 I'm omw home and I'll see how screwed up it is for me.

Is this a case of servers not handling the traffic or something screwed up in the file directories\download?
I think I tend to agree with a post over on the O-forums.........."why not just take the patcher down until they've fixed it?" You have alot of people fudging with things in an attempt to fix the problem(s) the less knowledgable are getting frustrated and wondering if they're doing something wrong, etc. Just shut it down till you fix it.

Gametrailers has a new travel power video up for anyone just sitting around waiting.
...and some new Starcraft 2 videos as well (I think), just in case you are REALLY bored.

My folder's definitely 7/27, not 8/15, so I'm thinking of deleting pre-load and trying to snare the latest version, if that's really the case. OK I'm just going to use my 7/27 and we'll see what happens or doesn't happens.

Cryptics launcher still will not patch, Im running version _08_17_13_50. I can sign in and it says "patching" but the file/s never start to download. I have tryed restarting several times. I am now hearing there's a newer version up on Fileplanet but the line to download it is ridiculous as well. Think Im done for the evening. I wonder if other hobbyists have to endure this sort of thing.

Holding my breath, crossing my fingers, etc., but right now the patch speed for me is very spry... Someone probably pointed out at some point that it doesn't need to download 3.6GB of files - it needs to "patch" that amount of files. So I guess maybe that 952MB number is closer to the actual download. Alas, on cue, it's bogging down at about the 54-55% mark of the patch download itself, for me. Aaaaand it's frozen at 54%... Ah, ah it started up again... c'mon baby!

This reminds me of when I downloaded Bullfrog's Syndicate Wars on a 2400 baud dialup modem. I think it took about 2 1/2 days. I have about 2,023 MBs to patch, myself. Come on baby! 56%!!! I assume closing and restarting the patcher has no effect? Now it's kind of trickling consistently (like .1MB a pop) but at least it's steady. No. Dammit.

Well post some screenshots for crying out loud. Or, are you being sarcastic? BTW, I've seen posts that holding down the "F9" key for a couple of seconds while the patcher's running will show you the files it's running through. Hold the F9 key again for a couple of seconds to make the screen go away (or, just click the corner X to close it like a regular window). Like so: Part of me wonders if the patcher would work better if it did things one at a time instead of what appears to be multitasking. A lot of folks are getting stuck on certain files including the game client .exe file itself around the 90-99% range of finishing the patching process.

Well, I have a very fast cable connection so I know its not my DL speed. Stop and starting gets me about 50kbs before it freezes again. I might be in beta by the time the X-pac is released...

To stop and start are people hitting cancel and starting over, or just closing the patcher window and restarting it that way?

Because the red X works for me, I counsel using that over the cancel button.

Boy do I feel like a moron for uninstalling my CB client and letting the OB client from Fileplanet inflate and patch. The patcher was going okay before I went out, but when I got back, it had stalled at maybe 2% further than when I left. Re-started it and it stalled again a little further long. Now it seems to have stalled at 49.8% It does seem to be like a Turbine patcher in that it remembers what it already patched if you close it. It starts up where it left off.

Well, I restarted the patcher and now nothing comes up on the patch screen at all, I can't even get back to the patch screen. Sigh. Guess I should've left well enough alone. Or, maybe everyone has gone to zilch. Who knows? Maybe they wised up and shut the whole thing down to try to fix it, as folks have suggested. For today, that's it for me. I'm gonna go play LOTRO and hope the powers that be figure out what the heck they're doing overnight.

The good news for me is I got back in (after completing a few LOTRO quests), and the amount of files to be patched is down to 1.6GB (so it did retain my progress-to-date I think?). But it's only patched about 280MB of that, and it's at the same glacial rate most are experiencing. I've seen the occasional post at forums where someone says they got in and oh boy it's great, and everyone says they hate him. On cue, I just lost my connection to the server. The amount of file MB to patch does keep going down on successive reconnects so I think I'm making some teeeeeeny weeeeeeny amount of progress here.
