Hi, I just recently got an Xbox (for ESPN Football) and love 2d fighting games.  I had heard about CvS:EO and how it's playable online.  How well does it play?  Lag issues or anything?

Just for the record, I'm going to be first in line for the Street Fighter Anniversery to come out biggrin  That sucker is going to be online and you'll bet your booty I'll be up for some games with some CG'ers (it does come out sometime in Winter, though  frown )

I've heard that it can get bumpy in EO, so I am definately waiting for Anniversary collection, if only to play Third Strike online.

I'm definately up for some ass kicking (or ass kickings, as it will likely be).  It doesn't come out until winter, but you should be back from purgatory by then!

Not laggy in gameplay at all.
Only thing it's laggy in is that between rounds the voice communication goes mute for a bit (at the yellow load screen).

There's a reason behind this though: Marvel VS. Capcom was supposed to be the Xbox live launch title, and Marvel industries nixed it stating that they were only licensed to reproduce the game as it was; not make an online version. Capcom then threw together the SNK vs Capcom EO but apparently they hadn't had as much time to test, etc.

Either way, it is a good game if you like fighting games. It's a great used purchase if you're up for it.

The updated Guilty Gear XX that's coming to the Xbox for 19.99 will have Live support. Sounds like that is the perfect game to tide us over. Most people feel that GG has passed all other competitors for fighting games.

I highly recommend Guilty Gear XX #Reload. Highly. It's (GGX2) a tremendous game, with an insanely unique and original cast of fighters, and the fighting is as good as it gets.

agreed frown

Anywho, I FINALLY picked Capcom vs Snk 2 for xbox so if any other CG'ers feel like whooping my booty, I'm game.  Btw, I didn't like GGX2 all that much.  Too freakin' quirky.

Oh and wow, it's tough to play with a normal Xbox controller.  Damn, an arcade stick would rock for this and the SF collection.

Speaking of arcade sticks: http://home.comcast.net/~jdpyle1/

Guilty Gear is a great series that I unfortunately haven't been able to give as much time as it deserves. I'm an old SF2 fan. Spent lot of time in teens playing that in the arcades so I'm eagerly awaiting Anniversary on Live in January.
