Blizzard is making 12 more pans become a dreaded expan?  Those bastards!  Won't someone think of the pans?

So, I see that slide and only see 2 more expansions for WoW on it.  Planning for 12 more expansions is a ridiculous concept.

I could easily envision 12 more major updates, as opposed to retail expansions you pay for.

Then again, they're selling 3 full price Starcraft 2 iterations, remember? Don't doubt they could charge for multiple WoW expansions if they really wanted to.

And this all assumes the supposed schedule is real, and not something a yahoo cooked up with Powerpoint or Photoshop.

Even if they were planning on 12 more expansions, I would buy every one of them provided they continually improve the game mechanics and the graphics like they have been.

They still got plenty of catching up to do compared to EQ.

Diablo 3 in only one more year, hooray!   crybaby crybaby crybaby

Won't Battlenet be brought to its knees if they release SC2 X1 and D3 in the same quarter?

The reason I don't think that is it is they call the other stuff X1 and X2, meaning Zerg and Protoss expansions.  It makes me think Phoenix is something else.

plus isn't the Zerg campaign the next SC2 main game?  I do think X1 is the Terran expansion though, I remember them mentioning one.

Is there any compelling proof that this isn't just a hoax?

No, the Zerg one was mentioned as the first expansion.  The first game is all about the Terrans, so they don't really need one.  Although, maybe that is why Phoenix is not considered an expansion.

ah, I think we're talking about the same thing just differently.  I'm considering SC2 to be 3 main games: Terran, Zerg and Protoss, and there was rumors of an expansion for the Terran game.  so if Blizzard considers anything SC2 to be an expansion than X1 would correclty be the Zerg, while Phoenix would probably be the Terran expansion/addon/whatever.

I'd rather dream Phoenix (if it really exists) is an X-Wing/Tie-Fighter type space combat game with Starcraft units where you hire various mercenary pilots as AI wing men. I mean, if anyone can revive that genre, it's Blizzard, right? Just let me dream...  tear
