Pretty fun F2P FPS game. Fairly straightforward, but good fun, seems pretty stable with good graphics. Basic FPS game types right now, you can get better weapons in game with money from kills or completing objectives, etc. More game types and maps coming soon http://blacklight.perfectworld.com/ |

I was in the closed beta and played it a bunch at PAX east. Fun game from a cool dev, definitely one of the highest production value F2P games I have seen.

Yeah, apparently they brought on some very experienced FPS designer, and he basically was frank about the status of the previous game's quality in his attempts to change it up. It's been getting positive word on the gaming podcasts I listened to. But the only problem is there's still plenty of other FPS games to play. So, even if a game is free, it still needs to be better than the paid blockbuster games.

It's got a few nice differences to differentiate, but whether you like them or not is up to you. E.g. the HRV that lets you see through walls to know where people are for a brief period. The in game point system works well too... kills, assists, and things like flag or koth captures get you money that you can spend on special weapons or health/ammo. Money lasts past death, accumulates for whole game.

Well, I like Blacklight as the pay doesn't really give you beenfits outside of unlocking some stuff early. You can be fairly competitive with default

this is quite fun, there are however some things that can be bought for cash that can't be earned otherwise. Not really dealbreaker type items, but I still hate to see it.

I've still been playing an hour or so a day (a good run through all the maps on DOM). I'll play more once I can re-equip my customizations :-P. Pretty ridiculous they broke that for so many people in the post-release patch, but even so the game is still fun. I'm lvl 28 now.

I hate the hard suits I think they cause a serious imbalance they are way to easy to obtain, and very powerful with multiples of them, but aside from that I enjoy the game immensely.

They can cause temporary shifts, true. But if you get used to using hrv to approach them from behind you can take them out with flamethrowers or stingers, which you can afford when they can afford hardsuits. I don't even try shooting normal even for the weak spot. Problem is, they're best attacked by two people with rockets... and teammates aren't always on the same page  What's your in game name? I think I'm Azhag2... |
