Battlefield 2 In-Game Nicks *Important*

Guys, please post your in-game nicknames here, and make it much easier for the admins to know whats going on, so they don't accidently kick you or turn you down if you ask to come in and bump someone out. It is soo confusing.

Wish we could have gotten 32 people together that would pay the fee for the private server.  Everytime I hit Hark's server it is full and I only notice maybe a few nicks that I recognize.  That tells me a lot of people outside either forum is using the server simply because it is a ranked one and they need to upgrade their stuff.

I like the idea, I'm just not sure I like how it's turned out.  Now I could be off-base and there could be a lot of people that don't use their forum handles on the game, but only people who have played inside of it know for sure.

I've not really posted much here, but I've been reading GG and CG since about 2000 or so.  I managed to get on the server last night and had a great time.  I've emailed Hard, and am willing to donate to the funds.  I'll be on the server as Spankmeister.

He's just got it set public right now.  I believe he'd password it if we wanted a serious match.  Also, I believe the server is missing the reserved password functionality.  Harkonis reported that part will be coming.  Once that is in place, the donators will be able to put in a password and then connect.  When they do so, a non-password/donator will automatically be kicked.

I understand the nuances...but if I was paying I'd feel a little ripped off that regular people are getting on the server to increase their experience, that's all.  Sure, paying members get precedence, but why pay if you allow the public in?  If it was a private server that only paying members could get on, I'd be more for it...that's what I'm saying.

I'm also not saying I'm speaking for everyone else...just for myself.  If I ever get on the server my nick is the same as here.

Even if I had 32 people willing to pay per month, they won't all be playing at the exact same times each day, then we'd have 10 people on at a time thinking 'this isn't any fun, why am I paying for this?'

Unless we had about 3x the number of slots paid for we'd never be able to have fun with a private only server.  If we DID have the 96 people paying, then on a busy night we'd inevitably have paying members who wouldn't be able to get on, then THEY'D feel like they were paying for something they aren't getting.

The only way to 'do it right' imo is to have reserved slots for paying members, which isn't implemented yet.  In lieu of that, we're kicking non-paying members when a paying member wants to join.  Already the server is very very popular because for some reason it's one of the only ranked servers that isn't lagged to hell.  What's the problem with people getting xp on my server when I'm not using it?  I have to pay for the whole month, I can't play 24/7 for a whole month, why waste the time it's not being used by me or paying members?

Being public also allows me and this website along with OO to advertise via the loading screens.  This draws more people to these websites which in turn should help their banner clicks. (in theory anyway).  Personally I've already had some emails giving props for a good server, and those could turn into donations down the road.  Once EA fixes their code and 64 player servers can run well we might have enough interest generated from being public to go 64 slot.

If we can get about 26 people together, I'd be more than willing to password protect for a 13v13 match (2 squads + commander per team).  Any less than that and you really wouldn't have a match worth shutting the server for imo.

Of course, I didn't pay for it so I suppose that doesn't really matter much

Well, I really suck at Battlefield 2, but I bought it, so I might as well play with people who won't scream at me too much when I do stupid things.
