Well that was no fun! 

It'd be one thing to be battling you guys with a team that knew what it was doing, but playing with randoms against the organized and destructive force that is my usual crew resulted in some very ugly play on my part.

I guess this is why I play Mercenary Deathmatch when I'm on my own.

The difference between you being on the other team and ATB was that you were kicking our ass and the rest of your team let you down.

Yeah I kinda enjoy killing our fellow GT'ers on the ranked matches.....just in short spurts because once the GT team gets their momentum, the opposite team usually gets rolled.

Anyway, some great (and not so great) matches last night. I do have to say, since I started playing with the GT/OO crowd regularly my winning percentage has been increasing steadily.

I played yesterday and the day before (just a little each day) and was continually frustrated, both by my lag that Comcast insists they are going to fix (my upload speed is 20% of what my max should be) and the stupid ass noob combo of Martyrdom and Sonic Boom. The former is something I just have to deal with. On my screen I will light up on someone from 10 feet away with my double tap RPD and show a half dozen hits, and then they will turn, gun pointing sideways, and mow me down. This happens more than you can imagine. This is lag. This made me nearly break my old controller yesterday (yes, this is why I play COD4 with my old controller). The second is just a general complaint. I hate Martyrdom and Sonic Boom. I hate them to the core. I know why they are there. I know that, in general, they are easy to avoid. But there are plenty of maps with choke points, geometry to get stuck on, etc-compound that with the fact that the grenade range indicator is extremely hit or miss (no pun intended) and there are times you are right on a grenade before it goes off. Add Sonic Boom to that and the radius is so absurdly large that at times you simply cannot get away. I am all for helping out the noobs-but rewarding someone who most likely didn't have the skill to win a firefight with free kills? I had one really good match last night, 20-4 on a FFA map. My 4 deaths? Yep, 3 were martyrdom. Eh...I can deal with it, just frustrated.

I am insisting on doing the weapon challenges on 360 as well, even though I already did them on PC, and this is another major element of my frustration, as finishing some of them that I truly do not care for (M263, G3, M14) is just annihilating my K/D ratio. Oh well, what can you do!

For the M14 at least you need to ONLY use it on maps with long sight lines and time for you to react.

The G3 is probably the same principle but I cannot seem to get the handle on that gun.

Sniper rifles are whole different and annoying beast.  I probably won't pay any attention to them until I'm ready to stop ranking up or I hit the cap.

I found the G3 a lot easier to use than the M14.

A LOT less recoil on the G3.
