I'm not getting any messages on the log in screen. After the ads and movie I go right to username and password. No message.

I get that message when i try to log in Arc.
Does yours say something different when you try to log in?
There is this constant fear that maybe I have the wrong version downloaded or something, and by the time I find out about it, i will end up having another 5 hour delay due to re-downloading the client and patching...

4PM EST?  What happens when you are testing multiple different code brances at the last second in the hopes of pulling it all together at once into a solid release? You fail.  Let's hope this is a minor bump , they have everything ready to go by 4 PM, and everything runs well after that.  I am crossing my fingers.

Did I mention how much I like the music at the login screen?  Nice.   icon_wink

Yes, I will turn off music at some point even in PvE.

I can't get into the forums even if I go through my account info page and update my forum information there.  Hell it even says my email is not recognized despite the fact that it is the one on file in my account info.

Is there any reason for negativity yet?  Is there ever?  If it turns out poorly, it would be time to own one's disappointment.

As a (former?) game developer myself (do pedagogical sofware now), I can assure you they are working as hard as they can to make it work.

There is a reason for negativity for people who went through the same shit with AO.  A company should be able to learn from it's mistakes and plan ahead properly the second time it does something.  Bringing the server down within 5 minutes of a scheduled launch is pretty obviously piss poor planning.

There's always that possibility, but it's kinda like the boy who cried wolf in that it's easier for me to assume that they fucked up than it was something more honest just due to how they handled things in the past.  Track records count for something and I would think they'd be even more cautious after that.

If and when this matches the debacle that was the AO launch, fine. Don't you think a 3 hour delay on an early access launch is a bit premature for the doomsaying? It's like some people are hoping for a mess so they'll feel vindicated.

Well, this is on top of the forums down issue, the pvp beta launch delay issue, the 'old beta client' issue, the massive untested features issue, the last minute server name change issue, the last minute untested pvp ruleset issue, the early access selling out issue, the not actually open open beta issue, the early access and bonus item registration mass confusion issue and the AO account incompatibility issue. Among others. People are understandably getting a bit gunshy. I want the launch to go smoothly but I've seen nothing in the past couple of weeks to give me any expectations that it will frown

Aye...just knocked out my first few levels.

Screenshots or it didn't happen. Tongue

And as far as server problems go - no game can ever be as bad as when AO launched. I have a screenshot somewhere in my collection where there's a horde of like 50-75 people at the zoneline of a city, yelling that they want out.

Any updates on the horrible client? The open beta ran like complete crap, totally turned me off. I learned from AO shenanigans that funcom can't be trusted in what they say. So just looking to see if they actually runs now. I don't have a horrible system by any means.
