So,
we now have 13 members of our little Corp, and I think the time has come to divide up roles in the Corporation.
Now, I realize that we have all more or less agreed its a casual corp, but then again, some people have already expressed wishes to be in specific areas, so, why not divide that up in the corp as well, and some have even asked to be heads of different divisons, Military, industry , Human resources and so on.
So, in order to see what people would be interested in, and if there's any conflicts, lets get your wishes up here...
Also, please note, that while I started the Corp, that doesnt automatically make the best CEO, so if anyone wants that position, lets talk :-)
so - what do YOU want to do in the corp, and do you want to head that particular division as well?

I want to work in production mainly but I also have an interest in intelligence. I'd like to be head/director of production, but it will take a while before I'm in a position to be able to produce much for the corp. If anyone else is already better suited for the job, say so!

I think I'm primarily going to be doing mining and industry, maybe some research and trading if need be. I wouldn't mind also doing some combat/PvP if I can find a role that doesn't involve massive skill point investment.

I'm going to blow stuff up and hopefully make enough ISK on the side to replace the ships I lose. Also planning on making ammo and missiles...probably will have to do some mining and/or providing cover for our miners. I want to experience as much of the game as is possible.

I'm leaning to mining and industry, since that's how I was heading last time I played. I have no clue how research works, so that's pretty much out. I also don't mind mission-running now and then. (I had a blast tonight running some combat missions that got me about 3m ISK in salvage).
Although I was on a lot this weekend, I am also a regular LOTRO player and it takes part of my game time, so consider me "casual" towards EVE.

I don't do mining, research, manafacturing etc, all i do is Fight Saying that i do have a thing for figures and maths as well, so accountant would be fine for me. But really i'm happy to do whatever we need or are short in.

As to corp roles...I'm willing to do whatever is needed, but I might not be a good choice due to the fairly limited amount of time I have to play...3 or 4 times a week I'll just be logging on to set the skill queue.

Ok, well a small summary then
Huw : Director of Production is interesting
Koz: Mining & industry, so - Mining Division?
LSS: Blowing-things-up-Division? I.e. Military arm of the corp.
Booner: Pew pew'er - Military arm as well, anyone of you two want to be Executive of Military Operations?
Goldchamp: N00b, will give all money to the corp, and wonder where it goes, while the rest of us parties? ;-)
Barrakketh : Mining and Industry as well, Mining division then? Either you or Koz wants to head it?
Reemul - Brawler, pirate and n'erdowell'er - Another potential Head of Military Ops?
Anyways, let me know how you feel about the above

I'm so incredibly new at the game that I couldn't even begin to speculate on what I'd like to do. :-) I'm having a great time just running the three 10 mission intro career arcs. I've been leaning a bit toward industry and mining, but it looks like we may be a bit light on the corporate side, so I'll finish up that intro arc and see if there's anything I can contribute on that side. All in all, it's been a lot of fun. I'm particularly enamored with the training queue mini-game.

I wouldn't mind taking the role as I have a ton of ideas....but I'm not desperate for it, nor would I be opposed to even co-heading a security branch of the company. I think the more brain power we put towards it the better off we'll be.

I certainly have no dillusions of grandeur, just want to help out in any way I can. I've been primarily focused on combat roles but would like to eventually start exploring other aspects as well. Glad to see everyone having a good time.
I think it's important that everyone always feel welcome, no matter how much time they put in or how much they're able to contribute.

+1 !!!! I agree completely! And, the corp is still not hardcore in any way. I just think we might as well give people the jobs they'd like to do, IF they want to do anything, that is! But, its still a most casual guild, rest assured :-)

sure - we need Scouts! There's lot of areas that cant be found without scanning, and id would help enourmesly if someone could scout out all the hidden places! You want it? We'd have to make a cool title - Executive Exploration Officer, Master of the Path, or some such? ;-)

Who knows where this will lead, exactly? Heck, he probably already knows how many branches we're gonna need! I'd be happy implementing his ideas and he would make a great CNO and I would have zero problems with following his lead.

I mentioned this to Raz last night... Since we are primarily a civilian corp, I think we should think of ourselves as "Security" rather than military. More like Blackwater than the Marines. I don't ever see us becoming large enough that a true military presence like they have down in low-sec is needed, but when do do start working down there...I see our fighting ships used more for escorting our trade ships than going out to forcefully claim territory. Granted, I don't think that it really changes a damn thing...just the name of the division.

I thought this was a funny article about Eve. CCP often touts this sort of thing with the bland marketing lingo of 'player generated content.' What that actually means is that you get to share a galaxy with Russian aluminum magnates, French-Indonesian nightclub-owning hackers, self-aggranziding 'spymasters,' and people who will cut the power lines to your house to destroy your internet spaceship.

The good news is our base has full researching services. The bad news is the shortest queue for material research is 19 days long. And that's actually the quickest in the whole region, so that's probably out for now. There are also no copying queues shorter than 5 days, so we'll have to rely on the market for blueprint copies (and originals).
I'll head up the science/exploration division for what little we can do with it for now. I'll see if I can scout out some better options when I have some time.

I dropped some minerals and refinables into the hangar at the Amygnon reprocessing facility, figured someone with the appropriate skills can put them to better use than I can. Koz, we're in the same timezone, so it might work out that we can meet up and do some exploring...I don't know much about how though, yet just saw this little post about scanning http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=642and now it's got me interested...pretty cool, now I want a Heron.

Thanks BrianE, it's appreciated! Yeah, Barrakketh is an expert refiner so it's best to leave refining to him for now, although I am frantically driving up my own refining skills to share the workload.
Koz, thanks for scouting out the science area. It looks like your job will follow naturally into mine; any blueprints you can find and research can be in turn used by myself to feed our growing production requirements. I can feel it all coming together! Muahahahaha! (evil laugh of world domination)

If you can live with that title, I'd say go for it. I'd really like to be involved on the PvP side of the Security wing somehow or another. I wouldn't even mind trying to develop some kind of anti-pirate thing. Obviously this wouldn't be a corp-level thing (we wouldn't be wardecing anyone...unless everyone wanted to), but I could see us eventually needing some kind of protection against pirates if/when we venture into lowsec. Of course, I *still* haven't finished the tuts and probably won't until Friday...I am taking a couple of days off of work, so I should finally get over to HQ space Friday or Saturday.

If we're going to venture out into lowsec space I think we'd need to either grow our corp significantly, which would presumably mean letting in "outsiders," or join an alliance. The size we are now, even with powerful ships we'd still be pulverized in lawless space.

No doubt about that! I'm just thinkin' longer term here and as I've posted before: I got a taste of PVP in WAR and absolutely had a blast doing it. I will be doing it in Eve at some point even if it's just the faction war thing. Although is some folks want to get together one night and invade lowsec in a bunch of frigs, I sure as hell wouldn't be adverse to that. This is a good beginner's guide to PVP that I'm learning a lot from if anyone is interested.
