I'll be running games pretty much all day every day for the next week, then nightly for awhile after that.

I try to keep the lobby at friends only which means you can join without an invite if we're in the lobby, otherwise just msg me and we can back out to the lobby to pick ya up with a Ramalama.

In this version of CoD I definitely prefer Hardcore, but we can mix it up so non-hardcore players can play as well.  Most of the drawbacks of HC in CoD4 seem absent here.

Hark-

Did you take time off work again for this release? IIRC, you did for COD4.  Wasn't it like a week or something?

See you in January!

Aye, I'm off work from Wed unil next Tues.  you remember correctly.  This will be my yearly COD-fest

I found it interesting that even though I stopped playing CoD4 over a month before you, I still have more time played in that game.  Sometimes I wonder if maybe I played it too much at the start.  Then I realize... nah, no such thing!   ninja

Wow. I find that hard to believe as that's all I played pretty much from release until May of 2008.  But yeah, that week jump was probably enough for you to keep the lead. smile

And fa fa to the notion that you could have too much time in COD4.  Though I think BF:BC is the better MP experience overall, I'll never forget the sweet sweet lovin of COD4.

He's first being sent to Kentucky for a refresher on the appropriate response to an RPG, which is to run away from it, not try to catch it.

I'll be on after work this week. IE around 5:30-6pm  central.  Played some SP since the 4 other people on my friends list were playing co-op, then played some split-screen with moriarty. Good times, I really enjoy the fact that you can revive each other.

How does the weapon purchasing and home repair aspect work?  Is there a setup phase in between zombie waves for you to do that stuff, or do you just have to try and find a spare moment amidst the chaos?

It is waaaaaaay too easy to be killed, and I'm not talking about Hardcore.  If I get shot, I'm dead...there's no running for cover like COD4.  I am only level 7 so far, but man my guns suck.  Here's to hoping some better stuff comes along.

With that said, the maps are awesome.

This is part of the reason we play so much Hardcore vs normal.  In normal mode a couple guns kill super fast and the rest are too slow to kill. (not sure how the reviews say it's more balanced than CoD5 in weapon regards...)  At least in Hardcore everyone has an equal chance of the quick kill.

Yeah I'm seeing that now.  At least everyone has the same gimping with no crosshair and no radar.

Watch out for Hark.  I wound up on the opposite team in the first round across from him.  I believe he dropped me a dozen times in the first round before someone had another engagement and they took pity on me and let me be the anchor around their necks for the rest of the night.   icon_wink

He doesn't even own Gears of War 2 and in my last game I got a message that said, "Curbstomped by Harkonis."  He's like the Chuck Norris of videogames.

Harkonis destroyed the Periodic Table because he only recognizes the element of surprise.

Harkonis can kill two stones with one bird.  Or all three with a bullet.

Outer space exists because it is afraid to be in the same multiplayer game with Harkonis.

There is no chin behind Harkonis's beard.  Just another gun.

There are no earned kills in multiplayer games.  Just kills Harkonis has allowed you to have until he kills you.

The grass is always greener on the other side, unless in a multiplayer game with Harkonis.  In that case the grass is most likely soaked in blood and tears.

When Harkonis talks into his Live headset, everybody listens.  And dies.

If, by some incredible space-time paradox, Harkonis would ever play against himself, he'd win. Period.

Harkonis cannot love, he can only not kill.

Behind every successful man, there is a woman. Behind every dead man, there is Harkonis.

Harkonis doesn't read game manuals.  He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Pete, I had to Alt-Tab away from the forum twice because I would have otherwise been guffawing at my desk.  Not recommended in a quiet software dev environment.  I have tears in my eyes from stifling.

OK, I know I shouldn't laugh, but my first match today Was hardcore with wonderpug & jarrodhk.  I left 'martyrdom' on.  It took all of maybe 90 seconds before I got kicked for tk'ing.   icon_lol  In my defense - I have a LMG, I have a bead and am currently firing on an enemy, and a teammate steps into my line of fire.  That's not my fault.
