Played a practice game last night against my opponent this week the Redskins. And they rushed for over 200 yards on me! Of course this was using Bills sliders which I'm slowly thinking aren't really all that great so maybe the real deal will be better. The AI clock management sucks btw. They do some truly bizarre crap sometimes. Agreed. I'm going to have to tweak the sliders and see if that helps. I was playing against my friend yesterday using those sliders, and he rushed for nearly 400 yards with just Felix Jones alone Jones was unstoppable. His 96 speed made him run around even my fastest DB, and he was shrugging off hits like they were nothing. Members of the secondary weren't even slowing him down, and it would take 2-3 linemen or linebackers to tackle him. Also, I need to up the field goal power. Most NFL kickers have the leg strength to kick a field goal from at least 47 yards (the line of scrimmage is the 30 yard line). But in this game I can only make that kick with some of the stronger kickers.

Kickoff time. Week 1 has now started!
Week 1 will last through next Sunday. I will advance the week on Monday morning (August 31st), or once everyone is finished with their games.
It's not too late to join the league if you are interested. Franchise name is GamingTrend and the password is GTFootball. If you are interested let me know so I can add you to the list and make sure we wait for you to advance the week.

I have a feeling it will be a much different story on All-Pro.

In there was an option to give them an email address, and select whether or not you wanted them to email you the stats after the game.

How many head to head matchups are there in week 1? It would be great if recaps were provided, especially if they include highlights.

I know I'm planning on including at least a quick recap of my game, with highlights, which is why I was happy to see that I could get the stats emailed to me after the game.

I wasn't emailed my stats either. Well, I didn't completely embarrass myself, but the Cowboys lost to the Bucs 7-0. At the end of the first quarter, Tampa Bay drove down to the Dallas 30 and Derrick Ward took a toss to the right side. Terrence Newman had an angle to drop the runner behind the line of scrimmage. I took control of him and promptly missed the tackle (I don't know that the CPU would have managed it either). Ward rumbled in for a TD. http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8638161Nick Folk missed a 49 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter, but the Cowboys managed to prevent any other points being scored, helped in part by a Ken Hamlin INT off of Leftwich. There were several dropped interceptions that might have given me the game at times. At the end of the 4th quarter, I managed to put together a nice drive, getting inside the Tampa 30. Romo was sacked and left the game, replaced by John Kitna. On 3rd and 17, Kitna rolled out to his left and found Marion Barber wide open underneath. However, several defenders converged and he only managed 9 yards. http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8638146The 4th down play was unsuccessful and the Bucs ran out the clock, ending the game.

WOOOO I had a down to the wire game against the Redskins. I was up 10-7 and trying to run the clock down in the 4th quarter when I threw this turkey of a pass. http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8638929So now I'm down by 4 points with only around 2 minutes to go. 4th and 17th and I pull this out of my ass. http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8638981I capped the drive off with a touchdown by Jacobs. http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8638963Ended up winning the game 17-14. It's much more exciting when it counts for something. Running is f'n hard on the default settings. Kind of wish the games were a bit longer as well since I tend to eat up the clock on my drives. Great way to start the season though. I didn't end up getting a email of my stats either. Looks like that parts broke right now.

You can see the list here, with the only change being that the Ravens are reserved for one of BEEFHAMMA's friends I believe.

Last night I got my game in with the Titans. The Titans jumped out to an early lead. Collins quickly marched his team down the field, and Bironas finished the drive with a 44 yard field goal. The Steelers answered in the second quarter with a 27 yard field goal of their own from Jeff Reed. Game is tied 3-3. Later in the second, the Steelers miss a 50 yard field goal attempt, and the Titans respond two plays later with a 54 yard touchdown pass to Britt, with under two minutes left in the half. But Big Ben marches down the field in just three plays, with passes to Ward, Parker, and a 14 yard touchdown pass to McDonald with 35 seconds remaining in the half. Game is tied 10-10. Then, on the Steelers first possession of the second half, the Steelers are faced with 3rd and 4 from their own 26. Holmes runs a quick slant, catches the pass from Ben, and turns upfield for a 74 yard catch and run touchdown. 10-17 Steelers. At this point, the Steelers defense has completely shut down the Titans offense. The Titans Johnson can't get anything going on the ground, and Collins can only find passes underneath for 2-4 yards at a time. They've registered only one first down since their touchdown pass late in the second quarter. But the Titans catch a break of their own. After going 3-and-out, the Titans are forced to punt again, and Santonio Holmes muffs the punt, and the Titans recover on the Steelers 20 yard line. But the Steelers defense stands strong, forcing another 3-and-out, and even pushing the Titans back 3 yards. The Titans attempt a 41 yard field goal, which they miss wide left. The Steelers are able to run the clock out the rest of the game, and win 10-17. Both teams struggled to run the ball. Parker had just 68 yards on 20 carries, and Johnson gained a total of 17 yards on 12 carries. Ben went 10 of 15 for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. Collins went 9 of 15 for 113 yards and one touchdown. Ward missed most of the 2nd quarter with an elbow injury, but still caught 4 passes for 74 yards. Holmes fumble on the punt was the only turnover in the game.

Just played my game against the Bills.
The Patriots opened the game showcasing there off-season pickup of Fred Taylor. The first two running plays resulted in small pickups and every one assumed that it was time for Brady to drop into to shotgun and lead the offense, but on the third play of the game there was another handoff to Taylor. Taylor took the ball and sprinted to the sideline where he broke a tackle turned up field and sprinted the 50+ yards for the touchdown.
The Pats defense forced the bills to go 4 and out, and then the offense picked up where they left off. A few passing plays later and the pats offense was inside the 10 with a first down. It came down to a 3rd down at the 2 yard line. Brady handed the ball of to Taylor and he slammed into the line and was tackled. The referees gathered and conferred and then the men in black and white raised their hands putting the Pats up 14-0.
The next series saw the Bills gain their first first down and on the next play a horrible throw was picked off by Brandon Merriweather and returned for a touchdown. 21-0 Patriots was the score at half time.
The 2nd half saw the Bills recover slightly and put together a few good drives but turnovers would be their undoing. By the end of the game Trent Edwards of the Bills had thrown a destructive 4 interceptions.
Final score: Patriots 28 - Bills 9

The only head-to-head matchup of the week featured BEEFHAMMA and the Eagles taking on my Panthers. It was a relatively uneventful game until the 4th quarter, when a whole bunch of crazy shit started to happen. Down a few points near a few minutes into the quarter, McNabb attempts to bring his team back. This was the result: http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8666188McNabb redeemed himself on the next drive, completing pass after pass into the middle of the field. Here's a good example: http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8666278This eventually led to a nice TD pass to Avant and a 2 point conversion, but EA Sports must not have liked it because they refused to let me save a highlight of it. Needing a stop, the Eagles take the field. First play from scrimmage, DeAngelo Williams does this: http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8666272The run was so long, the replay can't even show it all. McNabb tries desperately to bring his team back, once again getting on a role and completing a bunch of passes to set up a field goal to cut the lead to a single score. Eagles then get a 3 and out and get the ball back with a chance to tie in the waning moments. But then: http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/8666315Final Score: Panthers 21, Eagles 14. Great game, HAMMA!

That D'Angelo Williams run was a fantastic kick in the nards after a long TD drive. Great game man, wish we had enough interest to field 32 human teams...playing the CPU just won't be the same after that experience.

Man, the website is cool when it's working. Most of the time I go there it says the server connection is down, but whenever it's up I discover something different. The stats from my game were not emailed to me...apparently only stats from random online games get emailed to you, which is cool, but I am less interested in those. However, on the website they have the scoring breakdown, team stats, and individual players stats for each game. As I was going over the website, I was thinking it would be really cool if I could link video highlights to the website. Then I saw the video highlights tab. All of the videos we've posted here are automatically linked and shown on the website.

I added results from the Week 1 games to the first post, with links to the recaps. Most of us have played our games for the week. We're waiting on pingwrx to play his game, and IkeVandergraaf and fuzzyslug to join the league and play their games. If you've played your game already, don't forget to toggle your status to "ready". Your status can be changed at any time, so if you decide that there is something else you want to do during this week, you can always change your status back to not ready.

FYI to the league - I'll be traveling until Friday afternoon, so I'll be able to get my next week's game done this weekend.

We're still waiting on some people to finish their games, and two others who have expressed interest to sign up and finish their games. So you'll have plenty of time to get your Week 2 game in.
