[11/2/07]Halo 3 Geezers Gone Wild Episode V: Empire Strikes Back...against Kato

I guess nothing for this friday.......... 

I just haven't had much time to worry about Halo 3 Fridays this week because of long work hours and high stress surrounding a number of high-priority proposals, and I also was starting to think that perhaps people were starting to lose interest (such as ATB).  We weren't necessarily planning to host a special organized event, but it has already become a given that Friday nights are reserved for Halo 3 MP.  My wife won't even consider any other social event and has made this painfully clear to her friends as well.

But MoosNukle and I have no intentions of letting down all of the die-hard Halo 3 Friday Night Fight loyalists, especially USMC Kato, and so as usual MoosNukle and I will be online around 7pm Pacific (10 Eastern) this Friday and we'll be hosting the usual bevy of MP games.  If we have a small number of participants we will take our army online against the masses (or hold our own social MP matches to earn experience points), and we'll also include a healthy dose of custom matches so that we can enjoy some favorites.

Looking forward to seeing the usual suspects, as this has become a regular social event for many of us and we have come to really enjoy the social atmosphere, familiarity, camaraderie, good-natured ribbing, and plain-old fun we have each Friday night.

I think it's funny that my wife has even started referring to everyone by their gamertags as if they're familiar friends.

If you get her to play Halo 3 with you on Friday, that should be more than enough fun for the weekend.  What wife wouldn't want to spend their anniversary playing Halo 3?  I actually think my wife would consider it.  Christ, I can't get her to stop playing.

You get out of here with that COD4 talk.  This is a Halo thread, and I refuse to have Halo's popularity wane before COD4 is even released.  It will be tough to compete, but there should be enough nights during the week to accomodate both Halo and COD4.  I will not let Halo 3 die so soon and become the next Chromehounds.

You get out of here with that COD4 talk.  This is a Halo thread, and I refuse to have Halo's popularity wane before COD4 is even released.  It will be tough to compete, but there should be enough nights during the week to accomodate both Halo and COD4.  I will not let Halo 3 die so soon and become the next Chromehounds. 

Though I predict my skills at COD4 will be somewhere in between R6 <suct> and Halo3 <pretty dern good>, I'm very much looking forward to COD4.

However, it is a game, unlike Halo, where I bet I play the SP all the way through before diving into MP.

NOTE:  I apologize to everyone expecting me to begin festivities at 7pm Pacific, but we had a pet emergency after work and we will probably be late in staring things off (but hopefully at some point).  We came home to find Nala covered in diarrhea (as well as the area around her crate) and she was pooping blood so my wife had to rush her to the pet emergency clinic.  This came out of nowhere, hence the concern.  I haven't heard any news yet but I hope to know something soon (it is currently 6:40pm Pacific and I've been scrubbing poop out of our couch, off the walls, out of the carpet, etc. since I got home).  I'll keep you all posted and hope to be online at some point tonight, barring any complications with Nala.

*UPDATE*

I just spoke with my wife and Nala is doing alright (although she has had her fill of pooping at this point and has made that known with subtle grunts and grumbles).  She has had sensitive stomach issues since we welcomed her in our home and a treat she was given last night at Simba's graduation apparently upset her stomach severely.  The blood was just from irritation from pooping so much.  She has been given something to settle her stomach and will be put back on medication to keep her from having such uncontrollable accidents.  They're on the road, Nala is sleeping soundly in the back seat and they should be home soon.  After how miserable her day has been she will probably be thrilled to be home and will most likely curl up with Simba and they'll nap together for the evening. 

And after the nightmare of a day my wife and I have had at work (and the subsequent emergency at home), we're ready for a few drinks (although "few" is a relative term when referring to me), and we'll definitely need our usual time with the Halo 3 crew to blow off some steam and have some much-needed fun with our online friends. 

We hope to see you all soon.

Our internet connection apparently crapped out last night and we were never able to get back online.     Between the puppy being sick, Bungie server issues, and our own connection issues, it certainly wasn't one of our better Halo nights.  It was at least fun while it lasted.

Is everyone leaving Halo for COD4? I'll have COD upon release but I just wanted to know the consensus here. 
For me I hope that we have a good rotation of games on friday (or even other days of the week)
For COD4, Halo 3, heck even GOW.

I know if nothing else Moriarty is really wanting to get through co-op legendary... matter of fact she's on right now if anyone is interested.

I'm taking a break from it until December.  But I doubt I'll ever stop playing it completely and I'm sure the fires will burn brightly after a month off.
