Wireless Router Reliability?
«

Why are wireless routers so unrealiable these days? I have a new Netgear wireless N router that has started dropping connections and resetting after two months of use. Thanks to Costco, this one will be going back soon. In doing research for a replacement, it seems that all of the major brand routers (Dlink, Netgear, Linksys) have people complaining about dropped connections (based on reviews at Amazon and Newegg). Is this a hardware design problem? as manufacturing problem? software problem? Why are routers so unreliable of late?
I just want a reliable router.

My linksys wrt54g is still kicking 7+ years later. Rock solid in my opinion, plus advantage of customizing your firmware.

I had a D-Link router that worked flawlessly for almost 7 years before dying. I replaced that with a Netgear that I've had for almost two years now and has worked perfectly. I guess some people just have better luck than others...
