How can I tell if my HP and ASUS laptops can receive 5 ghz wireless N signals?  The paper documentation only refers to wireless n without mention of 2.4 ghz vs 5 ghz.  If they can't receive the 5 ghz signals, then there is no point in getting a dual-band router.

You could check the manufactures website, but I highly doubt it supports 5GHz. It's just not common as it's an optional part of the spec.
