This is great. A lot of this I had to find or do through the registry.

Per the article, it also works in vista, but there may be some hacks necessary.  I was able to launch it in vista32.  Don't have the gumption to try in vista64 at home yet....

What you're doing is creating a direct reference to the registry entry. The folder that contains this isn't new, and neither is the method. Want a Control Panel Icon or printers icon on the desktop? Search the registry and find the big ugly key. Make a folder with that key a the file extension (.{fllksdjhflsfjkhl339840178pfy;SJHFV;N;H489yg}) and VI-OH-LA! That being said, it's nice to know that there is a master control section.

Create a shortcut with following path and set desired icon:
    explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Personally, I prefer using the MMC to build a better set of tools.
