Video Card/memory....

ok I'm sporting the Dell 400SC because it was like 300 bucks one steals n deals week....
However my radeon 9800 pro melted it's fan and then melted another fan and was delegated to a big house fan blowig it to coolness, but apparently in the process burned itself to the point I dont even bother trying to play anything good, it wont play them without white lines and eventual overheating and rebooting, no atter how I try to cool it down....
So... I think it's time to upgrade from that to a new video card and expand my ram from the 512 and 256 chips I have in there to something larger so I might be able to play games again...
I got about 200 bucks to blow, maybe 250, any suggestions for video card bang for buck, and how much ram I should be getting?

Well 250 would definately get you a nVidia 6600GT and a gig of ram. You may even be able to get something like a 6800GS or caught at a good time a 7600GT. All 3 are nice cards. And a gig of memory should be fine. Ive used 1 gig for years now. 2 gig is the most you'd want.
