USB sound adaptor

i just ordered this off Amazon so i could plug my Turtle Beach x11s into my PS3


5.1 sound

what i got however was this


which is 2.0 sound

can you see the difference?

so,i try and plug my Pink connector of my Turtle Beach x11s into the Yellow jack of the adaptor and then into my PS3,and obviously it wont work

now this thing was dirt cheap(i got what i paid for i guess),i sent an email to the seller telling him that i don't want it replacing or money back and i will get the one i need elsewhere(as it seems a bit of a chore to do all that,than just place an order some place else and i am in no hurry for it either),and told him to make sure the right adaptor is to the correct image for future customers

so,my question is that on the adaptor it shows a mic symbol,i can't say i have seen any headsets that use yellow,its usually always been pink and green..so what kind of headsets DO connect to this adaptor?

The only audio that the PS3 can output to USB is voice chat audio.

So plugging your big headset into the PS3 via USB is pointless. Use something to plug your headset into the back ports, not sure how you would do this, I use a JVC dolby headphone adapter to take in a Dolby signal from the optical port. You can try plugging it into your TV's headphone port. Then set the voice chat to come from the speakers.

Then you use that audio adapter to let you use the microphone on your headset.

i have done it,i was messing around,i had all the connections in the same place and it worked,i had always been able to get sound through the headset but the mic wasn't working(the pink to yellow)

but i was messing around with it about an hour ago and i put the green in the green(when i should of had the green in the headset green)and a loud noise went through my headset nearly deafening me..so i took it out and put it how it was,and the damn thing works perfectly now,not sure what was going on

If you look at the video, he doesn't plug in the headset into that USB audio adapter at all. He only plugs the microphone into it. Not sure what weird setup the turtle beach has, but there's two green wires, one male and female coming from it and you simply plug those two in together along with some weird extra USB plug?

Just what plugs are on that turtle beach headset?

The game audio comes from him going through the composite and shunting it through a SCART bypass. That's where he's getting game audio from.

I did a lot of research on this when I was figuring out how to get my fancy headsets working with my PS3.

yeah that's exactly how i did it at first

but as said i then messed about and took the green male out of the other green female and put it into the green sound adaptor,and got the loud noise so put it all back to how it was,and ..all of a sudden the mic part(pink male in the yellow female of sound adaptor) started to work work,like the video showed,even though that's how it was set up in the first place...its like the loud thing that happened,did something and 'fixed' it
