Cable Modems. Separate Jacks for VOIP?

TWC has announced a 4.00 per month fee to 'lease' the modem.  So I'll buy my own. However, I have their VOIP service and on the one they are letting me borrow it has dedicated phone line jacks.

Do I need to find another that has those jacks or will it work on any docis 3.0 modem?

If you buy your modem, you'll need a second device from TWC to hook up your VOIP.

You might want to consider switching away from TWC for your VOIP...

I called them and get this: They'll let me keep the modem for VOIP, but I have to have the internet go through my own modem not to be charged the rental fee.

Then I guess I'm lucky that TWC gave me a new modem after moving to Dallas.  After talking with a former network admin, he stated it's because my old modem would throw errors all day every day that they'd have to deal with, and gave it to me just to make their lives easier.
