I grabbed a linksys WRT54GS and with the 360, the DS and the PC...everything but gaming on the PC so far...it works great. But when I go to play CS:S, and I only got this far, it doesn`t show anyones name in the list of players on a server and it shows my ping at 2000 :icon_sad:. I`m assuming I need to open ports :icon_confused:, but no idea what and where. I only have hl2 games on here with WoW at the time. Any ideas? And I`d assume since the other things work fine they don`t need anything opened? Thanks!

I get that too, but if I just click connect and stop paying attention, usually after a minute it connects.  Try a few more servers, usually there are a handfull that connect immediately.

I`ll give it a go. Is that the right way to deal with it? Or should something be open?

I've not really run into problems without those ports open.  The only time I had to open a port was when I was playing WoW.  Yea, I could get the patch, but it'd run dog slow if I didn't have the correct router ports open.

Bingo! Even though it says server quit responding and then it shows my ping at 2000, I get in game and 31 ping there it is! Thanks.
