so, what's good nowadays?  I ditched IE for Chrome, got Open Office, what else is there?

I still use IE on the netbook.  Netflix runs like balls in Chrome.  Gog.com has gotten a few more purchases out of me as UT GOTY edition, Freespace and Divine Divinity all rule on the Netbook.  I installed Openoffice as I was just too lazy to attach an optical drive for Office and am really liking it.  Definitely stuck mIrc on for a little #gg.  Don't really need anything else.

Firefox 4 beta runs really smooth on my netbook...

My netbook has no issues running Win 7 and IE smoothly in Aero mode. Why did you ditch IE?

How much RAM does your netbook have, CK?

It's got 1 gig with win 7 starter, I may upgrade it to 2. IE just seems to run slow on it while Chrome runs great.  I just grabbed the firefox 4 beta so I may just end up using that if it runs as good as chrome. Of course I'm so used to using Firefox that IE may be running like it usually does.

Defintely upgrade to 2 gigs of RAM, it's cheap and easy to do and I think things will run snappier for you.
