I have a Sony V1U camera with the hard drive.  I don't think I'll run out of hard drive space in the field (I should be able to get back to a computer every night).  The HDD should be good for about four to four and half hours.  I'm mostly shooting narrative, so it's not constant filming or nature filming.  Anyway,  I could use a laptop or netbook for data dumping.  The HDD only has a firewire connection, so it(laptop) has to be capable.  I do have a firewire expresscard, so if the device has a expresscard slot, that would work.  Something small and relatively inexpensive would be preferable.  I just need it for holding data.  I'd be open to other suggestions for holding data as well.

BTW, getting another HDD for the camera is out.  They are seriously over priced.
