need a new printer

I couldn't find a recent post with info about printer recommendations, so I started a new one. 

My All-in-One HP printer basically crapped out on me, and I need a new printer.  Nothing special, but a copier function is needed.

Also, what is the difference between laser printers or bubble jet or whatever?  Are laser cartridges much more expensive?

i've been using an Epson Artisan 835 for the last couple months now and it's been great...packed with features, good print quality, and very easy to use.  i especially like that it prints very quickly and has automatic duplex (double-sided) printing...very handy.  i'm not a high-volume printer, but it serves my needs well.  while it sells most places for $250-300, i was able to pick mine up on sale from Newegg a while back for only $180 and it looks like Amazon has it for that price right now.

If you don't need color, I wholeheartedly recommend Brother laser printers. They kept it simple, and it works a treat. Lasts forever, too. Saves you a ton of money not having to buy ink cartridges every month.
