My laptop has a 3d BluRay player so I've decided I should get a bluray player for the tv.  (I will get a big HDTV next year most likely).  I can't decide if I should just get a wifi BR player that will stream netflix, or get the PS 3 that will do the above but will also let me play games.  I'm a pcgamer but the console has some attraction.  I liked the kinnect (sp?) demo I saw at DisneyWorld but friends have said those games are few are far between.  The PS3 move looks like a decent compromise.

I had a Wii that I sold to a friend.  I used it mainly for Netflix.

Thoughts are welcome.
PS _ I wanted to create a poll.  I like polls.

If the road home crosses any landscape features that include words like "forgotten," "void," "razorthorn," "shadowmist," or "doom," then I vote that we take a nap first.

I guess the only real question is, which games appeal to you on consoles?

If you have a 3D TV, the PS3 is a slightly better option due to most first party PS3 games having 3D support. But other than that, you should look at the games and see what appeals to you.

While console fanboys rave about their specific brand of consoles, there really isn't THAT many console specific games anymore. Or rather, most games comes out to both consoles, so if you are bi-curious about consoles and want a Bluray player as well, the ps3 is a good choice.

(I own both consoles, before you accuse me of bias ;-) )

A new one

Get the PS3. You'll get more bang for your buck. We had a Blu-ray player for less than a year after having it last Christmas, and I had happened to buy a PS3 around the same timeframe that has done very nicely.
