Howdy folks.
Last year when I was on vacation I hooked up a webcam to a spare laptop and used a program that allowed me to remotely access the webcam so that i could check out my place from the internet.   It worked fine once I turned up the motion sensor - every time the sun or a car flashed light into the apt I got an email telling me that a photo had been taken.  I was getting dozens a day!

Fast forward to now.  I don't have a spare laptop (or any) computer to put out in the front room to attach to the camera.  I was using a Logitech usb camera.  I had to replace my wireless router today and this one has USB ports on it.  I didn't expect it to work and when I plugged the camera into the (Belkin N750DB) router, nothing happened.  So...

Is there a way I can get that USB camera to work with the router or does it need to be connected to a laptop?
If no go on the option above, any recommendations for a inexpensive wifi (up to N) camera I can get.  Can I connect it and not have any computers running?

BTW, my desktop runs Vista if that matters

I thought that the USB ports on routers only work with printers and external HDDs.

I think that is correct, but I figured I might as well try it anyway.

Looks like I need a camera with more "stuff" built into it. Will check them out.

LOL.  I'll check them out again.  I appreciate the help.

I still want to see if I can use the camera somehow, but I think I will also order a Wirless-N day/night cam just to be safe.
