One more question... the 3.0 GHz P4 is $180, while the 3.2 GHz P4 is $215. Is it worth $35 to move from 3.0 to 3.2? (both are socket 775 Prescotts).
Well, consider how long you're gonna have this machine - amortize that $35 over the time. I typically keep my machines for 3 years, so that's like $1 a month for me. Worth it. I usually try to pick the 2nd or 3rd highest available CPU speed that's available, dropping down to the first reasonable one after the bleeding edge. And for the machine I just ordered about a month ago, I upgraded to a 3.2 from a 3.0. So I think you can guess what I'd say about your decision.
