Hey Andrew, do you have the new drive installed? I've had harddrive crashes before where I was able to pull all the files off even though the drive was scrapped.
I'd have both drives installed, load Windows on the good drive and then run

They load the corrupt drive in a Windows Explorer type view and let you save files or whole directories.
