Two browsers! Almost the same day! I'm surprised that IE9 is as good as it is, but Firefox 4 is great! Anyone used IE9 yet?

Chrome 10 is nice. If I could get NoScript working for it, I might switch.
Atomic
PS: Upgraded to F4 just a bit ago. Smooth, no issues. Even preserved my settings, etc. Just install over the previous version, for anyone who was wondering.

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and was impressed with the speed and all. I wasn't understanding the supposedly new "add panel" (something like that, the name escapes me) ability that's supposed to make it easier to hit your favorite sites. It's touched on in the video after you install, not really explained though. I think it's supposed to add site "Panel links" above the tabs up top, or something. I think I'll postpone using it at work if only because Foxclocks, which I rely on quite a bit at work (my reporter job involves contacting people all over the globe, in various time zones), hasn't been updated to work with version 4 just yet.

Dear self, I noticed the FoxClocks dev posted a download link for a "not yet reviewed" Firefox 4-compatible version of his add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/foxclocks/versions/*I guess it's considered "unofficial" for FF4, so the auto-updater won't find it until it's officially reviewed. *As far as the "App Tab" feature, if you right click on any browser window tab, one option is to "Pin as App Tab." This shrinks the tab to just a small icon (GamingTrend icon in this forum's case) so it takes up minimal space compared to full size tabs. Plus, if you're at work, it's less identifiable as the place you like to goof off at during the day.

Safari 5! um, .0.4. I like using Safari on my Mac to keep things unified. I had stopped using it for a while because it was having issues with xbox.com. Started using the Firefox beta, but when I started having issues there, I went back to Safari, at which time they had fixed the xbox issues.
TBH I'm not really a browser power user, which is why Safari is fine for me. If it had a way to load greasemonkey scripts I would probably never use anything else.

When I ran the FF4 installer there was an Upgrade option. I clicked it. FF4 installed. All my plugins still work. Adblock, styleit, tab mix plus... all of them. No issues whatsoever.

even odder, it's causing my GPU idle temp to spike to 60C when it's normally 30-35C. I've got games that don't make it get that hot.

I have only just been prompted to update to Firefox 4,i agree it feels a bit odd without the status bar,but it still has the 'waiting for...' notice in the bottom left
other than that it looks pretty good, and works fine up to now

hmm,i am missing that loading bar now,as i don't see it i think i haven't clicked on whatever i need properly,so i click again and then usually double post also if you look at this pic,the 'most visited' to 'gaming trend-Index' icons keep disappearing when i go to another site, they are not present at the moment...not a big deal, but i do use that gaming trend icon for a shorter cut than the bookmark list...but the ad on plus also disappears with them all(far right) top pic they are there, bottom pic they are gone it's always there when i start out from my home page(MSN),and then when i go from there to kotaku etc,is disappears

yeah, the loading bar was part of the status bar. I've also found the 'connecting to' text sometimes switches sides of the screen. I haven't noticed the 'most visited' thingaroo missing, but I don't use that very often.

I'll type a bunch but the browser can't seem to catch up for a second or two. Very annoying.

I ran into a problem where my cursor disappears when typing, it usually goes away if I switch tabs. I've also noticed the occasional lag while typing.

For some reason at work (Windows 7), IE9 (works fine when I've tried it at home on Vista 64-bit, though I'm mostly a Firefox devotee) gives me very sluggish mouse-cursor action, and when I need to type things in on a web page, it's extremely slow and laggy. Never had issues with IE8 at work.
The online newsletter software we use has a couple key functions that only work in IE, so it's frustrating. Any ideas? And it is possible to sort of "un-update" back to IE8?

Dear self, view this MS page for instructions on reverting to the previous version of IE8 (and uninstalling IE 9). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9Sincerely, yourself...

Dear Self, Well, duh, what I should've done is gone into IE 9's options menu and clicked the "use software rendering instead of GPU rendering" option. Presumably my old work PC's integrated video isn't up to the whole GPU-acceleration thing, thus causing the mouse slowdown. So I got IE9 working properly at work.
I don't plan to stray from Firefox, but again, I do have to use IE9 a bit for some work stuff. Even without the GPU acceleration, it's fairly quick at page rendering.
