So, after a hard drive crash and a full reinstall, I'm running into an annoying little problem that's messing up my usual workflow.
I usually have some video playing in the background as I work as filler, often it's youtube or various other things.
I also have 2 monitors, and my problem is that if I click to have the video go full screen on say, youtube. First problem is that the video will jump to full screen on the primary monitor, not the currently active monitor. The second issue is that if I click anywhere else, the video will minimize back to its window.
The strange thing is, before the reformat, I had the behavior I wanted, which was going full screen on youtube videos would pop the video full screen on the current monitor, and clicking elsewhere after doing that kept the video at full screen. I'm not sure how I got it to be like this.
Edit: Okay, found a fix that doesn't involve hex editing or buying extra software that so many other sites suggest.
It turns out that a recent version of the Flash player disabled this functionality for security reasons. All videos open to the primary monitor, and must close if they lose focus in windows. A fix, albeit a iffy fix is to go in and disable the use of the latest version of flash, which might come with issues of security.
I'm using chrome, and in that browser go to "about:plugins", this will open up a list of chrome plugins. Then in the top right open up the "+Details" so see more options. At the top of the list for Flash, you'll see the latest version 11,3,300,268. Click disable for that version and you'll drop to using an older version of flash.
Doing this again made me remember that this was exactly how I fixed this issue years ago when I redid my system. Since I've been using this fix for a long time now, and hadn't run into any problems, I can say that this fix is safe enough for general use, and I know that I did apply many Flash player updates with no problems.
