This is kinda hardware for computers.

I'm in need of a decent office chair. I love the one I have work but that sucker is a Steelcase so is more than I'm willing to pay. What's a good office chair in the $150-$250 range? Would consider one that's a bit more expensive if its totally fantastic.

Thanks.

Buy a used Steelcase from Craigslist. You should be able to find one in that range. There are no good new chairs <$200. I'm partial to Aerons myself, and I got one on Craigslist for $300. Steelcase doesn't have quite the name recognition, so they can be found even cheaper.

I've got one of these:

Love it. The only downside is that after four hours you need to get up and move.

If you decide to sit in a chair for more than four hours, that's beyond what my small-but-ever-expanding-mind can comprehend. slywink

I have a tempurpedic one from Staples that I like. Don't get the all leather one though.. I thought it was horrible.

It is $300 though. If you are not in a hurry, you can wait for a sale.
Very adjustable.

I have the same chair as Punisher, it's a good chair, although the adjustments are different than most cheap office chairs. My only complaint is that the arm rests are too low for me at their highest setting, but I'm decently large (6'1) with a long torso.

You should get a warranty on it though. I just had a scare that my chair's back wasn't holding up, turns out it's normal to have to tighten a bolt on the underside once a year (whereas most cheap chairs would just fall apart by then).
