Since building my computer a while back I have continued to have startup shutdown problems with my computer. First of all when I first start my computer I get the error message that “No BIOS detected”. Despite the error message windows starts without fault. From within the system everything seems to work fine, the only problem I see is that when I open my device manager I get a conflict with something called WinXP Promise FastTrak 579 Controller; a driver that I installed from a diskette that came with the motherboard.
The real problem comes only when I try to turn off my system. No matter what I do I get a fatal exception (Blue screen of Death) error and I end up having to reboot my system manually.
My motherboard is a Soltek SL-K8AN2-GR/K8AN2E-GR I’ve tried to access to makers website, listed as
www.soltek.com.tw but it seems it no longer exists. What should I do?
