I use an MSI GT70 and I *love* it. I've not had a single problem with the device, and it's OMG fast. HDMI out means it plugs into the Onkyo and I can use the big TV in the front room as a monitor. I highly recommend them.
What is considered a low-end gaming laptop? ($500+ ?) Any recommendations ?
Thanks to knightshade and others that responded to my earnest request for info!
After a couple of years of searching and waiting for the price to drop closer to the 500 range... i gave up and ordered the following before christmas (on sale in the 750 ballpark)http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015PYYDMQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
Processors core i5 6300hq 2.3 GHz
Memory 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM
Storage 256 GB
Graphics Coprocessor NV GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5
i am hoping that the higher memory graphics card (4 instead of 2) gives me a longer life (giving up a newer i7 core processor was a good/bad idea?)
the other downside is that it is a dell... had some bad experience in the past with plastic hinges (5 or 10 years ago), and while these are better I can see the hinges giving way sometime down the road.
its nice to play newer games while i am roadwarrioring - loving the solid state drive - but worried about space (trying to figure out if i can put bigger steam games on a seperate thumb drive, while keeping others on the local drive)
thanks again for the feedback!
