Ok I have a basic question, can I replace a dying motherboard (ASUS P5Q Deluxe) with another socket 775 board and not have to reformat the hard drive or re-install the O/S? I figure the BIOS would handle the motherboard settings and I should be able to just pull the parts off the old board and put them on the new one. I have a 9550 quad core cpu, ddr2 memory and I think this board may work http://www.amazon.com/MSI-G41M4-F-2DDR2-800-GMA4500-Motherboard/dp/B002ML56J0/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_7
but I don't know if additional effort will be required. The case will accept the micro ATX board. The old ASUS seems to have an issue with the memory slots, I did a memtest and my memory failed every time even after I bought new modules.
