Dammit, my Pioneer VSX-1015TX decided to die. No surround sound for me. ARGH!!

I had it paired with the lovely Harmon Kardon HKTS 15 set (from 2005, this link is for a newer set) and a pair of HKTS 6's to round out the 7.1 surround sound.

The damned thing doesn't even power on.

The entire home theatre sits on a Monster Power   HTS 5100 MKII PowerCenter, and none of the other components have failed, nor is that plug compromised.

I called pioneer, and they basically said 1year warranty, and I bought it in 2005.

I have no money to replace it, so I'm considering taking the system from upstairs (Sony HT-DDW660), the receiver is an STR-K660P which is a low end HTIB receiver from 2006.

ARGH!! If I had the money I wouldn't be upset; I wouldn't mind getting a newer high current receiver with HDMI switching etc, but I just can't justify that with my current debt load.

As an owner of the exact same receiver, I am sorry for your loss.

If you are ever near a Futureshop, I found out that the 1025,1026 receivers (from the support guy) is basically their Elite series.

Link.

Anyone wanna donate a decent high current receiver to yours truly? slywink

Update - When my receiver is unplugged for 4 days, plugging it in works.

If you leave it on perpetually, it works.

strange.
