Back when I was 11 and my brother was 7, we picked up the game Dungeon! from the neighbor's kid.  His mom wouldn't let him play it because "D&D was evil", so he gave it to us.  I can't even imagine the number of hours we spent dungeon diving in this simplistic version of D&D.  Next to Dark Tower, Dungeon! is my favorite childhood gaming memory.

Got a text from my brother yesterday, and he told me this game has been remade and you can get it through Amazon.  I'm sure it doesn't hold up compared to modern games, but he'll be out here in a couple weeks and we're going to play the hell out of this game.  I can't wait!

I always thought getting eaten by a black pudding sounded delicious.

This new edition came out in the Fall, and I had it on a pre-order wishlist for a long time, but the reviews kept making it seem like it knocks the rose-colored fuzzy memories right out of you.

I also played the hell out of this game, and it is only $20...

I've gone through this same back and forth process dozens of times.

It arrived yesterday...missing 1/3 of the cards.   crybaby  Back to Amazon it goes.

I was still able to play it a bit, and while it's very simplistic, there's certainly still some fun to be had here.  Especially when the nostalgia kicks in.

I played it at a game meet a few months back and I have to say I wasn't very impressed with it. I had heard great things about it from fellow boardgamers for years, but I'm guessing those impressions were heavily clouded by nostalgia. IMO the D&D Adventure series games from WotC blow this one away in every aspect.
