Here's the article: http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=23091&mode=thread&order=0There's a new official Halo collectable miniatures game. Just like Mageknight, Star Wars, etc... This may be the only CMG I buy in to, at least to get miniatures so I can use them with other rules. I'll be buying up commons left and right for this too.

This might get me into the Heroclix thing even though I don't like to get sucked into the whole collectables thing.

Well...My family and I have SW: Minitatures, Heroclix and MechWarrior and I must say all 3 are excellent. My days of tabletops and Pen & Papers go back to the early 80's when I was a DM at a College D&D club with 70 members strong. So these WizKids games are just a way to continue a tradition with my family that began for me many, many moons ago.

I have a BOATLOAD of DC Heroclix from all DC sets (and even many Marvel Clix from the first two sets) that I'd be happy to trade/sell to someone who will use them. I really, really enjoyed my time with Heroclix but I do not have time for more than one tabletop Minis game and D&D Miniatures is it.

Hey Fyedaddy I might be interested in some of your DC or Marvel sets. My only stipulation for trading and buying is that the base stat wheels can be easily turned. My son and I have bought just a few too many figures where that wasn't the case. I'd suggest you post some brief descriptions of what you have in the Trading forum, as there might be other GT members that are also interested.

Good idea. I'm in the process of sorting my collectibles this week or so and will post something in the Trading forum asap. Thanks!

I have those Star Wars Heroclix things and they hardly work. Do they move and click nicely for all of you?

The Star Wars miniature figures don't actually have rotating bases, but I hear you on the Heroclix. It's not uncommon to get figures with bases that won't rotate. The same can be true for the Mechwarrior figures but it's a bit less common. Your best bet is to buy from a store that sells single, unboxed figures. There's a few in my city that sell them beginning at $1. It will cost you more, but you'll be guaranteed to have a figure that works. There's also apparently various trading sites on the Internet, but I personally haven't used any of them.

Well, I guess it's good to know it's not just me not knowing how to play with it right.

Jpinard, I'm sure you're playing the game correctly. It's an unfortunate fact, but you can receive brand new Heroclix figures with bases that won't rotate. I've read that some people have fixed this by using some lubricants; i.e. sewing machine (5 weight) oil. I haven't tried this myself, but whatever you do don't use WD40! The graphite will discolor the colors on the stat wheel, making it impossible to correctly read the stats.

I don't play any of the clix games but I did pick up a 4 pack of the figures.
I got one each of the Blue Spartan Shotgun and Dual Wield SMGs as well as a Minor Brute and a Crystal Elite Zealot.
The one I am really interested in is from Todd McFarlane that is coming out in January

I'd suggest trying 3in1 oil instead. test it first on one you don't care about.
