My first PC game I installed was Command and Conquer...those were good times That wasn't my first PC game, but that was the first PC game where the loading process was cooler than most other games. My first PC game was Joan of Arc on my $3000.00 286 back when I was a young buck.

I'm trying to remember what my first PC game was. It was on one of the old IBMs with the nuclear attack-proof keyboards. I'm thinking Miner 2049er, Snack Attack, Moon Patrol, Jungle Hunt, Bump'N'Jump, Paratrooper... Wait, I remember. I'm pretty sure I started with Rocky's Boots. This brings back memories: Though I think that must be a more advanced version. I don't remember it having colors that good, more like magenta and cyan.

First video game: *EDIT*Whoops, I'm not allowed to hotlink it... It was Top Gun for the NES. Just hearing that opening music play in all its digital glory makes me go all "whoopee!" again First pc game: But in black&white, and in french. To make it... interesting... for an 8-year old.

I believe the first game I ever played was Adventure (the text version). My dad took us into his office and in order to connect to the server that had the game we had to use one of those old modems where the phone receiver actually sat in rubber cups for listening and transmitting. Crazy. I may be remembering this wrong, but I don't think there was a screen, just a printer with paper.
As far as tv based games we had an Odyssey that had a few pong games on it.

I LOVED Rocky's Boots. There was another game in a similar vein that had you create wiring in robots and you sent them through these worlds picking up keys and avoiding security drones and stuff. That game ruled, whatever it's called. Edit: I found it! Robot Odyssey. They don't make educational games like that anymore... not that I really know how they make educational games nowadays.

Holy sweet gaming flashback, Batman indeed. I used to put a lot of time into that classic education game back on my Apple IIc. But as wonderpug said - I never remembered it looking that good. Why aren't there good educational titles like that out there anymore (not that I go looking at least).

NODERAILFORYOU! I played Pong, but I am pretty sure Combat was first. Though there may have been a Space Lander game on my TRS-80 before that. Not positive on the timeline and with the tape-drive it used I might have obtained a 2600 and played Combat before the Space Lander game was ready to go.

First video game I saw (and had to have played, although I can't remember due to having been so young) was Pong when it was it's own console.
First video game I remember actually playing was Pac-Man on a brand-spankin-new arcade machine.
First video game my family owned was, of course, Combat!
First computer game is hard to say. Do those shitty BASIC games you typed in yourself from a book or magazine count? I recall playing the Scott Adams game "The Count" on a Vic-20 my cousin owned.
I remember staying late after school and playing games in the computer lab, though. Especially Archon!!!!
I can't even recall the first REAL computer we owned (with some kind of storage, rather than having to retype the whole damn program again). It was probably a C-64 with a tape drive. Temple of Apshai! I think we also had Castle Wolfenstein.
Strangely, I think we had a Laser 128 (an Apple IIc compatible, before the Apple monopoly cracked down on such things) before I got the 5.25 drive for the C-64.
Then we ended up getting a drive for the C64, and shortly after I borrowed a 300 baud modem, then on to an Amiga 500, and finally to my first PC, a screamin' AMD 486-100 with a 750 mb hard drive. THAT was a machine built entirely to play Doom... and Doom it did play!!
Doom was the first PC game I personally owned, but wasn't the first I played. That may have been Jill of the Jungle. I recall at the time I was trying to desperately hold out for Amiga turning the market away from IBM. Pretty funny, in retrospect.
