So I mentioned this on another thread on here but what are your guys thoughts on phone gaming in particular? I enjoy tetris but it gets old after a while and stuff. As I mentioned I've been playing God fo War on my phone and I have to say, I think that games like that and IP like Tom Clancy coming to phones is really cool. These things are getting powerful now and it's a legitimate platform to make games for at this point.

God of War on your phone? Huh? Where? Even though it must be a bitch to play (my Mogul's d-pad isn't exactly up to the task...). As for me I mainly play slower games. Turn based RPG titles like The Quest (pseudo-Daggerfall) and Legacy (psuedo-Eye of the Beholder) (both with ample demos over at http://www.redshift.hu/) for example. Something that doesn't rely on constant action to get by (as the device just isn't suited for that type of playing). |

You know, I just realized you two are talking about actual phone games (Java based games for a standard cell phone) verses my Smartphone/PPC.

^^yeah, in the case of god of war, I just downloaded it from my carrier and played. To be honest though, I had some of the reservations you said, mainly about the keypad. I think they've done a good job of using it for various actions though.

I saw a pretty cool promotion where you can text "kratos" to 4sony and you can download the god of war game on your phone. That's very cool.

+1. Surprisingly fun little game. "Orcs & Elves" was a also a fun dungeon romp in the same vein. There's supposedly a cell phone version of "Guitar Hero" coming out. That could prove...interesting. |

Bejewelled is actually a good game to play while you're sitting on the crapper at work. Just make sure to turn off the sounds otherwise you may get weird looks when you exit. |

Doom RPG was great. In fact... I have the only walkthru FAQ out there for it  I was going to get Orc & Elves, but I'm just going to wait for it to come out on the DS. |

Yeah, a lot of them are being ported all over and stuff. Some others are simply ports to the cell. I think we will probably see a lot of orginal IP come to the cell as it becomes a more legit gaming device. Something like God of War with it's own storyline. Especially since you are probably going to start seeing more and more convergant devices.
