I would absolutely play again, but I'll leave room if others not in the last game want to give it a try.

I'm interested but I still haven't gotten around to learning the game. Perhaps I can get in on the action in round 3?

Ok downloaded the rules for the original. Should I be reading the original rules or the revised 2004 rules? Is this game up to date?

I think the original. Also, if we put you on the allies team you would have two people to talk to when trying to develop strategy. I think you could learn as you go if you want.

Yeah, I was really fuzzy on the rules too but I had everything down within the first two turns. It's not a complex game rule-wise. Just strategy-wise.

Ok after a quick glance through the boardgame rules and then a playthrough of one turn for all the countries involved I think I'm ready! Only thing that really got me was the combat, until I realized that rolling a lower number is actually good! At first I was like wtf, I rolled a 4 and he only rolled a 2! How did I get hit?
Anyways I'm ready to go-strategy-wise I'm probably going to suck but at least I have a basic understanding of the rules. I think it might be fun to play as Japan (unless this is very difficult for a noob).

It's easier to understand the roll under mechanic when think about it this way: better units have higher combat values, the higher the combat value, the more chance you have to roll equal or under in combat.

Awaiting confirmation from B and x to start this one. If others want to play feel free to voice because there is no limit to the number of games we can get going.

I think it'd be cool if one of you AAR'd this game. Put it in a thread that the others promise not to read so observers can see things develop turn by turn. Include screenshots and commentary by the player. Canuck has experience doing AAR's, for example.
Just an idea. The last game was hard to follow and I think you had an audience that would have liked to.

I'd be happy to do it-it would sure be a hell of a lot less work then my current CC5 AAR (which isn't dead, just paused) that's for sure!

On the other hand, this is going to be absolutely my first game of Axis and Allies ever so I might not have a clue what is going on. Perhaps a more experienced player should do an AAR. If no one is interested then I'll be happy to give it my best shot.

You know, it occurs to me that I will be out of town next weekend and will have no internet access for about 5 days. Kind of like Raydude's absenteeism right now in the other game. Perhaps I should let someone else in this one if there's another fifth who is interested. Otherwise, just be aware that I'll either have to miss a few days or have a proxy take my turns for me.

Hi Canuck I would say a great writer would be more important then experience with the game. =) And my 2 cents - Russia would be the easiest to play for new players. A bit boring compared to the rest but the easiest since your main objective is defend to buy time for GB and USA.

Game started. Sorry about the delay. Assigned Russia to Canuck and randomly picked between USA and UK for Raydude then randomly assigned the final three powers.

I left a letter out of Spacelord's email. I have contacted the game PTB to see if we can fix that issue but we may need to restart. Sorry about that.

Done my turn! Anyone else up for doing the AAR? I can certainly do one but I think it would focus mainly on Russia because to be perfectly honest I haven't played this game long enough to even be able to tell what is going on with the other countries Oh and I should get my teammates' MSNs or Google talks if they have them-I posted a few questions on or chat thing but I sort of needed immediate answers

In case anyone is still following, Game 2 is done. The Allies won after Germany capitulated and the allies worked together to weaken and invade Japan!
