The Kingsport expansion for Arkham Horror was released today.  I ordered it off Coolstuffinc.com as my usual provider, timewellspentgames, didn't have it listed yet (I feel kind of guilty, but I'm impatient!  icon_wink).

I'll post some impressions (if anyone's interested) after I get a chance to play with the chicago group or at Origins later this month.

Here's the FFG forum faq on the game.  There are some spoilers on the game so if you don't want to know EVERYTHING about the game, avoid that thread.

do you mean you have it in hand, you saw it in stores or what???

from the ffg forum for arkham horror:

It arrived in stores yesterday. I picked one up today and ran a solo testrun through it. Epic battle variant makes GOO combat more interesting, and rifts sure can get nasty if left unattended too long.

I found it listed as "IN STOCK" on the coolstuffinc.com site so ordered it.  make the run to your local gamestore and demand they hand it over to you!   icon_wink

Too bad I usually wait until I have a full order to get free shipping since so many other games on my wishlist are late.  Agricola, Ticket to Ride Card Game, World of Warcraft Adventure game so it looks like I'll be waiting on Kingsport and hoping that doesn't sell out while the others are still on boats or wherever they are.

Supposedly within a month or so.  I've got mine ordered direct from Z-man to get all the spiffy extras.  Of course, I'm paying more for it, but that's a different debate.

Ooh, tempting.

I've been meaning to get the CO OO crew: MHS, TheMeal, ChrisG, and myself together and play AH. Perhaps soon...

Every christmas I go home and play Arkham Horror with all the expansions for almost 3 days straight with old friends.  It really is a great game to whip out when you have the time.  It has a good RPG feel to it thanks to the large number of investigators you can choose from with different abilities and skills.  Plus, the loot is always fun.

Only problem I have with the game is that there's a lack of player interaction.  It seems like everyone was playing their own single player game for the most part.

I've made a house rule that says you can drop any item off in any square for another player to pick up. When I teach new people the game, I make sure they know they have to cooperate.

when we play everyone communicates what they're going to do, as well as letting others know what gates they're going after, monsters they're clearing away, etc..  i see what you mean, however.  but if you get a group together that treats it the way you would a good rpg session of CoC, it becomes more coop based.
