2 player game, suggestions please!

So ever since I started putting my computer togather, I've been swinging into geek mode and just randomly decided I'd like to try out a non-parker bros. type board game.

The thing is, it must be geared for 2 players, and the other player is going to be a gf resistant to geeky things.  She's very competitive though, so if she gets into it and can win I doubt I'll have to twist her arm to play.  Preferably it'd be a game that's easy enough to get pretty quickly, but has depth so once she's into it there's more than just "roll the die move 3 spaces".

Basically a game that a geek and nongeek can play togather.  Any ideas?

edit: Thought I should add, the one area where my gf is a meganerd is comic books.  She's a nut for marvel stuff, especially the x-men.  So maybe that will help...

edit part 2: I looked at Marvel Heros and I'm so sure she'll like this I'm actually going to get it for her bday coming up.  But, I absolutly must find a miniature Gambit for her, it's her favorite xman.  Any ideas where I can find one that would look at home with the games collection of miniatures?

last edit: my search is complete, probably best to just let this thread now die.  Google answers all.  Heroclix is a great way to add your own heros, looks like they should fit in pretty well from pictures I saw.

My brother is very non-geek, but into the sports so Motocross Madness 2 is always a blast.

When we get together, my family really enjoys playing the Sequence board game.  It's fairly simple to get a grasp on but then allows for strategies, and it's playable for 2 to 12 people. 

It doesn't have anything to do with comic books or anything, though.

There's also a Marvel version of Heroscape coming out soon.  That could be worth checking out.

a) She'll be happier with a game that has Gambit over earrings any day
