When clicking on forum link site no longer refreshes with most recent posts...

Just within the past few moments I noticed that when at the main forum menu, if a particular sub-forum is shown to have new posts and I click on the sub-forum, the new window doesn't show the new posts unless I click on "last post" for that particular thread.  And if I click on a thread heading, the last posts(s) are missing unless I do as mentioned, which is click on "last post".  Problem with the forum or is the issue on my end?  If so, what could be the problem (using a new laptop less than 24 hours old)?
