As a member of the forum (and not as staff), I agree that it was hasty. Most of us were ignoring Zeke's stuff and I thought we had a pretty good discussion going.

Agree, bad form. There was only one person who was really derailing it (which the community got back on track once and would have again imo, edit to add: i didn't help and should have ignored said user better but I think i was adding enough legit stuff to compensate  ). I though the talk of addiction was completely on topic to the original post. A bit heavy handed. |

I don't know, a mod came in and warned everyone to knock it off and keep it back on topic. It did for a while, until it started back up again. It was more about yelling at each other and throwing insults than actually talking about the topic.
If anything the thread can take some cooling off, and maybe after some time people can come back and discuss something together respectfully.

I support our mods. For all the heavy-handedness in this particular thread, farley2k was probably swamped with feedback on posts and so there was a ton of backend work just to catch up with all the Zeke posts, let alone the pained messages from Hepcat complaining of character assassination. I certainly would like to see the topic re-opened at their discretion. (I also don't envy their jobs  ) |
