Not sure what's going on but the site is very slow right now, spending most of my time waiting for pages to load. Just had it give up and show me a message from 'CloudFlare' that the site is down and that it couldn't find a cached version of what I was looking for.  icon_confused

Of course, right after I posted this, the issues I was seeing seemed to go away.  [sigh]

We've noticed some oddness over the last few days, but not sure what the deal is. We're keeping an eye on things.

Wicked slow again today, gotten 3-4 errors...something to do with "MySQL server has gone away".

Yeah, we're keeping an eye on it. Not sure what's causing the issue yet and I tweaked a few things here and there, but nothing definitive yet.

I've noticed that your host seems to go into backup mode around 11:30ish PM Arizona time every night or so. I've had quite a few of the 'there's no backup of the site to visit and the live part is down or whatever' errors very late at night. But it might be when your host does its backups and such.

Today's issue...I can post replies with text just fine, but when trying to do anything with url or img links, I get the SQL error above.

Probably doesn't help pinpoint the issues, but figured I'd give you the heads-up.  smile

It does actually help.   I've hired somebody to look over our SQL, Wordpress install, and pretty much everything else to try to solve it.   Frustrating at best.

Still pretty consistently slow though I haven't run across an error lately. I'm getting used to seeing a spinning circle and "waiting for a response from gamingtrend.com..." when I click on anything. icon_cry

The site has been down ever since I got up this morning until right now. That means at least 7 hours of downtime, and possibly more.

Yea...rough night hardly covers it.   Fixed the slowness problem but blew up the server in the process.   On the good side, speed is WAY up now that things are back up and running!

They seem to have fixed it quickly, because the slowness has vanished (it was taking pages close to 10 seconds to load before).

Well done, sir!

I didn't record the actual error and it's no longer happening, but in general terms it was something about the site being offline try again for an online version.

Perk of the job working at GoDaddy - got notified that Cloudflare got assaulted pretty hard by would-be hackers yesterday.  (why would anyone do that?  there's nothing to be gained...)

just got Cloudflared, but only in Firefox 19.0.2.  in IE the site came up just fine while FF kept on coming up with the "click to retry for live version" screen.  tried FF a minute later and everything was back up.

*nod*  DDOS against cloudflare continues today, but it sounds like it's finally getting under control.   Frustrating and embarrasing.   mad

The site seems to be very slow again today.  Clicking on a forum or thread can take from 10 to 30 seconds to resolve.

Not seeing the same behavior on other sites so I'm assuming it is the GT backend and not my internet.
