A lot of thought was put into how we approach our reviews going forward. We hope that this better represents the particular score a game should receive, as well as allow us to use the entire scale.

Our first two reviews that use our new scoring system:

This may be a bit pedantic, but your summary for the 60/65 score is that it means "alright."  While the use of "alright" seems to be gaining more accepted and isn't officially wrong, it's still generally a frowned upon usage that looks a little unprofessional.  For the time being, "all right" is still preferred.

Even more pedantic, for the 70/75 summary "groundbreaking" isn't supposed to be hyphenated.

When was the last time you saw IGN hand out a 50?   They are an 'upper part of the scale' shop.

They were, but their new reviews editor has completely changed their scale, and 5 is now considered "Average." In fact, their Sonic Lost World Wii U review got a 5.8. So they have definitely been using much more of the range than they normally have in the past.

Game Informer... their 7 is considered "Average." How weird is that???
