While Im sitting reading GT forums or posting a new thread or reply Im getting randomly redirected to different sites . Its addy is some kinda search engine that pops up then the new site opens. I thought it was a spyware issue but Malwarebytes says its clean. Im running adaware to be sure.

Four times this morning Avast has warned me of trojans on this site and given me the option to 'Abort connection', something coming from the ad 'rotation' window at the top of the page it seems. There was also a popup that the Google toolbar blocked which I don't recall ever seeing before. The last time, after me dealing with the trojan it automatically took me to this "404" site: http://scanner.best-protect.info/scan.php?campaign=mmb_1085342553&landid=4What's going on?

Seeing the same thing as well, plus some trojan alerts. Just saw your post after I made mine.

Adaware also found nothing. Just 3 tracking cookies.
EDIT: I have Adaware , AVG both running full time along with Google's bar and yahoo's bar. Nothing ever warns me and nothing is blocking the redirect. Its still just randomly happening to me. I usually can click back before it actually loads the redirect pages.

I got a pop-up this morning as well on two different computers. GT also completely locked up Firefox on my systems both at work and at home. Not sure if it's related, but the banner ad looks really strange and isn't even clickable. EDIT: Ad's don't seem to be rotating either, I'm getting the same "LinkCrawl" on every page.

Got a pop up and live one care blocked gamingtrend stating that it had been reported as an unsafe site. Warning was for containing malicious software and links to virii etc. I reported that gaming trend was a safe site as feedback. There also was a link on the MS page where you could state you were the operator of the site and state you were safe.
Something for someone to look into.
Not sure if its related but I got a message right after viewing the "MF is hot" thread and onecare removed a threat to my PC.

Running Firefox 3.0.11 with FlashBlock on Ubuntu here, and all I see in that corner is the occasional GOG ad (the GT affiliate thing I presume) or Flash stuff blocked by FlashBlock.

I merged all of the topics together - this has been fixed. Google Ads had been infected with some malware site and they were serving them to us. I've turned off GoogleAds completely. The ads that remain are for Good Old Games, PopCap, and GoGamer. Until I hear a really goddamned good reason from Google why I should re-enable them, I'm not planning to....

Actually, we found it wasn't google- it was a new ad network we are trying to fold in. amazing what increasing the CPM rate does to discourage the riff-raff...

I just have to sincerely apologize for letting that even happen. We've taken preventative measures - won't happen again.

This thread drove me to install adblock plus. It turns out that Adblock Plus can also protect you from CK: Rickroll BlacklistBlocks known renditions of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”
