Not quite.  If you visit the front page you'll see that it looks quite a bit different than when you went to bed last night.  We've changed out some of the elements of the redesign and are working hard to nail down the last few bugs.  There is a GREAT deal of functionality that we will be changing in the next few weeks, but the first is a change in the way reviews work.   They were broken up by categories that didn't always make it easy to write - we've busted those and the reviews will become more free-form in nature.  This will create a great deal of flexibility in our writing to be able to more accurately represent more of the 'niche' titles.

There are a great deal of changes going on under the surface of the site over the next month.  We will see some new features appear, and old ones replaced by ones that work better or make sense with the site direction.  As a small example, you'll see that we have several gigs of video from E3 hosted, and we have quite a few screenshots in our One Stop Media blitz (http://www.gamingtrend.com/forums/index.php?topic=33929.0) and E3 sections (http://gamingtrend.com/e3/).  These two sections will merge and you'll find all media located in one place, including the full list of Trendcasts and special video reports.

While it isn't the full redesign, we sincerely hope you like the new look of Gaming Trend.   Stay tuned, it's gonna be awesome.

I thought the E3 banner said: "Continuing coverage on all the biggest titties"

I'm disappointed.

I'm impressed. Loads quickly, looks slick and clean and professional without a lot of extra stuff that slows down a site.

Is anyone else having issues with the latest news box when viewing the front page on the iPhone? I can't post a screenshot until later but the text seems to be overlapping big time there.

Other than that it looks great!  thumbsup

Glad to see it's finally happened.

Discovered one bug as I was clicking around. Clicking the GT Logo in the upper left of every page takes you to the 404 page.

In Firefox, I've noticed there's some text overlap in the Latest News column.  The bottom line of text sits right on the dotted lines breaking up each news bit, so that any letters that go below the line (like a y or a g) cross over that dotted line.

We are re-evaluating that section due to the effort required to keep it maintained and accurate.

Yeah, that section does require a lot of work - but for me it was the best coming games section in the Web and I greatly appreciated your efforts.

So, from what I hear you are really interested in the release dates smile  I will try to get them up to date.  As Mike mentioned, that is the hardest part to maintain in the database.  So many numbers to research Tongue

I find it hard to read, there's just too much to read and see and click. (I also feel this way about other game sites though).

I liked the previous look more, a bit more sober and clean.

My two cents, hope I didn't bust anyone's feelings too much...

I think it looks fantastic.  My only minor gripe is that the news items tend to blend together even with the dotted line between them.   Great work all, I will be spending more time on the front end now.

I will second the difficulty of keeping up with release dates. If distributors don't tell us the release date directly we really have to pull from a lot of sources to get the best date. That's why I like the "our opinion" part of the release date.

Heck - I have enough problems pulling release dates from games that are due out that week for my What Are You Buying posts. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to keep anything beyond that current.

Oh, wait, I can - I used to work on the site. biggrin

I have I my own 'cheat' sources, thank you very much.  Tongue

Remember - things that even EBGames.com sometimes shows as shipping that week changes without notice. However...I like that link. Looks quite complete...

A suggestion:

Please, for the love of god, get rid of the extravagant search box. It does NOT have to be that large. It does NOT have to have curves on the corners. And for the love of god it does NOT have to take up space there.

Instead, move it to the right, right inside of the bar where the links are (Forums, Reviews, etc etc). Make it simple like Search Games: |________| (SEARCH) right in the bar, not taking up space. And no curves and extraneous graphical stuff! Just that.

While Search is currently the only thing that is up there, there are other elements that are going to live in that box once the full relaunch goes live. Additionally, the blank areas you see elsewhere in the header are going to have other things as well.....
 ninja

And besides, there would be a big blank space there anyway due to the leaderboard ad next to it...

Even that was an afterthought but will be adjusted eventually.  There is a 'Home' like mere pixels below it already....
