Does rule number five stand? And if so, can I ask why?

Quote
5. Signatures - Signatures are allowed, but try not to go overboard on the number of lines in your signatures. Personal websites linked in your signature is not allowed and will be removed from your signature and an e-mail will be sent explaining why it was taken out.

It was a list created by us...questions can always be brought up.  I guess the question would be why do you want this allowed?

P.S. I moved this thread to where it belonged.

It is not so much that I 'want' it to be allowed. I just think it is almost anti-community. If someone has a blog or a list of games they own or something, is it not ok to have a link in the sig? It seems that getting to know each other would help build the CG community and help visitors get to know about the people in the community. Just my opinion.

Also, it seems this rule is not really being enforced. But I might be mistaken on that.

Well, the spirit of the rule was to prevent folks from pimping their personal site as their only point in being here.  Believe me when I say that I've seen that before.  We can certainly re-evaluate it if there is an interest...

If you have a personal website, it doesn't need to be in your signature.  In fact, if you have your personal website link in your signature, it is actually excessive. Observe beneath Knightshade Dragon's post, there is a 'www' button. Press it, and it brings you to whatever web page that he has set as his webpage in his user profile for the forums.

I just changed mine, and I see that my journal does come up in the WWW button.

So change your profile, put your website in there. smile
