New posts in threads?

Was curious if there was a way to help people find new posts inside long threads that they've already visited?  It can be difficult at times to come back to a topic and have to remember where you left off, which messages were posted since the last time you visited.

Something I miss from other forums I used to hang out in.  :wink:

Welcome MonkeyFinger.  I wondered about this for awhile myself but actually there is an easy solution.  On the main index page there is a link on the upper right-hand side called "View posts since last visit".  If you click that it will automatically take you to a summary page of all the threads that have been updated since you were last here.  It's pretty much what I use to navigate the forum.

In front of the threads with new messages you will also see an icon with an arrow pointing to the "new message" icon.  If you click on that, you will go to the first new message in that thread.

Cool!  I actually support a business site that uses this same forum software and had no clue you could do that.  :oops: Doh!

Nice, Graham.  I've been here awhile and my old site used phpBB but I never new that.  Thanks for the heads-up on that little arrow!

Now is there a way to universally mark all threads as read?  I know you can do it in each forum, but what about globally?

I've looked up and down for this, as it's an ability I really like to have on several other forums. I haven't found anything for this particular board like that yet.

In between the Non-Gaming forums and the Who Is Online box, there is a link that says "Mark all forums read."  I think that is what you are looking for.
